I don't think football money or basketball money will stretch to other sports but the player percentages of money will remain the same in all sports. We're moving away from football and basketball financing all the other sports. That's something that's also going on right now.

wont happen. fans will lose interest and stop going to games. when that happens it all ends.

They will pull the money from the twelfth man foundation. The one that A&M graduates donate to religiously. Things have changed since the NCAA stopped it the first time.
If you think any school cares what the NCAA says at this point, you are deluded. TN just neutered them in court. And this is the new normal. Every SEC and B1G school will be doing this within a year …

Title 9 will have little to do with this. This will be an employment issue. Professors in Business, Law, Engineering, etc make more money than professors in liberal arts. Football players and male basketball players at Power schools will get more money than their female counterparts because they are part of a bigger revenue pie and demand more money.

You can't do that unless you give the athletes ownership. Athletes will be employees.

Even if schools start paying players, the courts made it so NIL contracts can't be regulated. Boosters will be able to give more money to players in that scenario and there's nothing the schools, conferences or whatever replaces the NCAA can do about it.
Because of that, no regulation for pay to play is possible because boosters are outside the system. School payments can be regulated, but not booster payments through NIL.
End result: those with boosters willing to pay will get more recruits, which will only lessen parity in the sport.

If you fix the sport by making the players employees, the impetus for boosters or third parties to pay goes down significantly.
Pay the players, make contracts, institute a draft. Then the NIL is only used for actual promotion.

Tennessee's lawsuit already killed the goose.
It has made the bylaws that make pay for play against the rules illegal. That was the end. All the stuff following that are simply the results of that lawsuit.

It only would work if a draft were allowed, and a draft of 17 year old minors by public colleges is never going to be legal.
Even if you somehow got around the fact that these are minors, you get stuck by anti-trust laws. Professional drafts are legal because the player unions for the entire sport exist. That allows collectively bargained agreements witht he leagues that break antitrust laws if the unions weren't in place.
You'd need the existing players to form a national union for colleges, then have that union collectively bargain a deal with the schools/conferences that make it so they can ONLY hire union players in order to force high school prospects to join the union, then have the union agree to a draft/salary cap scenario.
If you believe that's possible, I don't know what to tell you. It will literally never happen.
Schools can decided to pay players, but they have no realistic avenue to take away the players right to choose where they go. And that means that boosters will still be able to pay players to attend the school they want to support.
