It sounds legit. Seriously. You don't just double down with that statement unless you have a lot of evidence exonerating your client. At least, I wouldn't.

I hate that two people can have consensual relations and if the other gets upset about it later they can can claim rape.

So in short...

She is a whore who screwed a guy before she went cleat chasing the superstar of her universities big win. She texted him after the win to set up a meet as well.

SMH at these misguided women. I wish they could criminally charge these false rapes/assaults.

No way the lawyer puts that out with his name on it unless he is 100% confident on the facts of the case.

We don't know whether the girl's accusation is true or not and we don't know whether details in the attorney's statement are true or not.

I lean toward believing the accuser (note that I didn't refer to her as a victim).

Not sure proving she had sex with another person before hand is necessarily a good thing for Harris...

Yeah, he got pretty specific about what happened, even providing evidence in the form of text messages and multiple witness accounts. I'm not sure I've ever seen a public statement this detailed during an ongoing investigation. Ususally the lawyer says the say ole stuff, "we feel that our client is innocent and we feel that once the investigation is complete our client will be cleared of any wrong doing."

Like I said, sway public opinion. Plus this just makes her a Slut, or maybe just Easy, or just Really Popular.

I'm not a lawyer. But I think you would usually see a lot of "We have no comment at this time, the facts of the case will come out blah blah..". I don't know. Maybe they are just trying to pressure the girl, but it seems like a risky strategy.

It' very risky to put this kind od detailed info out to the public. It's damn sure an unorthodox way for a lawyer to respond.

He's basically saying he has proof that she initiated contact with Harris while he was still at UT - then she had sex with another guy "one hour" prior to the alleged sexual encounter with Harris.

Huntley Johnson is da man...

quote:

Since 1984, Johnson has been the lawyer Gator athletes call when they get arrested. He averages five wayward Gators a year.

quote:

Sports Illustrated calls Johnson the Matlock of Gainesville. Sports writers call him Florida's defensive MVP. He's not on retainer for the university. The NCAA prohibits pro bono. Some of his clients are pro bono, he says, but Gator athletes all pay something. He won't disclose his fees.

Satisfaction is practically guaranteed. Virtually every Gator player who hires him stays out of jail.

Bottom line. You don't put that statement out there with your name on it if you are only 99% true of the facts you put in the statement. This man is 100% positive on all of those facts. And from those facts he's fairly confident the charges will be dropped.

The thing about sexual assault is, it's real easy to claim somebody sexually assaulted you because you get embarrassed the next day. But it's real hard to get convicted if it didn't really happen.

I know sexual assault is real, and if it really happened then girls should be encouraged to come forward, but often times girls act before they think. If this is a sham, this girl just put a huge scar on this kid's life forever.
