I'm sure that would have changed a 39-point beat down at home.

Are you suggesting that UT's backups are on the same level as Kent State's starters? If so, my condolences.

Yes, as a matter of fact it would.

9 Tennessee starters injured heading into Alabama game week

SEC Country

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Tennessee started the game Saturday against Texas A&M missing five starters, and by the end of the day, four more had been knocked out.

No wonder coach Butch Jones snapped at the media that he doesn’t want to discuss injuries anymore. No. 1-ranked Alabama is coming to Neyland Stadium next Saturday and the Vols are as banged up as any team in the nation."

I'm sorry Tennessee is the only program to deal with attrition. Clearly Tennessee would have only lost by 20 points, instead of 39, at home. Maybe we'll put an asterisk by that game, just so Vol fans can remember in the midst of a 10-game losing streak to Alabama, you had the deal with some adversity.

Yes, Tennessee was a MASH unit. It still doesn't excuse Jones coaching the game like an absolute coward.

After the UGA game UT thought they had that SEC East division locked up

I am sure 99.5% of people did as well

And that should have been the case. There is no excuse for failing to win the East after beating both Florida and Georgia. But Butch fricking Jones will not be denied.

FTFY.

He'll be shown the door after a 2-5 or 3-4 start. Vol fans will deny they ever bought into the hype, they will start some Gruden rumors (hell maybe even Peyton's name get thrown around), get turned down by a couple of promising coaches at "worse" jobs, and ultimately talk themselves into the idea of Dana Holgorsen bringing titles to Knoxville.

We all know what they do for fun in East Tennessee

Unlike elsewhere placing foreign objects in their arse is a Friday night party

How many times has Bammer played Kent State?

Bad example. That's Saban throwing his alma mater a bone.

Last time I checked Auburn is playing the defending national champs in their stadium

You kidding? That's the one time I agreed with what was done. Our entire OL was on the bench, Hurd was being a flake, y'all dinged up Kamara and it was clear we simply had no chance. It was far better to let others get experience and try to regroup for the rest of our schedule while the East was on the line.

Zero reason to get your QB murdered when his entire OL is on the bench from injury.

I don't think you actually believe Alabama is "afraid" to play in a teams home stadium. Because, well, you can't be that dumb.

I hate neutral site games, but the reason for them is money and Saban's desire to play in recruiting areas plus get his teams into stadiums we will play in in playoffs/SECCGs. I think it's horseshite excuse making, but being "scared"? They're playing Southern Cal and Florida State in back to back years. I'm sure they are terrified to go to Norman or Austin.

Typical UT fan response.

Dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge.
