Good article. Thanks for the link.

No telling how many posters were turned on to TD because of Freek. I know of at least one.

In Dale's defense, all the information probably wasn't out yet and most still don't know why Petrino was actually fired.

One of the internet's greatest days.

To top it all off, Arkansas fans expected to compete for a SEC title, too. Then John L. byGod Smith waltzed in the door to coach'em up.

wat.

Is it not common knowledge that Petrino hired his mistress and used university funds to get his dick wet?

You know you'd think that the SEC office would have done us some scheduling favors after that but hell no they didn't.

Slive has been quoted as saying that he was very proud of how Jeff Long handled the situation and he knew it was a very tough decision to make that he didn't think many other AD's not only in the SEC but the country would have had the guts to make and get the program back under control.

Thanks SEC, we bury our program to save face for the entire college football industry but you can't throw us a bone, or back us to get a little more favorable schedule and give us some of the East division cupcakes... no! on the road to Bama and LSU in the same year, fricked us w/ the bridge schedule, pulled S.Carolina from us when they start to get shitty again, give us the tougher draws out of the East on a consistent basis, only give us Kentucky and Vandy when they're better than decent.

Thanks SEC.

Most did'nt know why Peterino was fired? Only a DA world not know!
Dale was just in shock as most of us
were. My goodness what a nightmare that time was!

Peterino was a good coach, but a sorry excuse for a man!

I know 2 people have already replied to that but are you implying you have some insider knowledge and there was more than the coach hiring someone he was screwing for a position on staff? If not, I am just totally confused by that comment, there was no way he should/could have stayed after that and it not been even more of a shitstorm not to mention firing him was simply the right thing to do.

I must have some good blocking out abilities because I swear I never remember that gif or not the Bill part anyway.

I remember hoping at the very beginning it was just all an April fools joke/rumor- way before everyone knew about the horse toothed ho aspect of the situation, iow back when it was just BP had a motorcycle accident.

The worst part was when he came out for the presser all scratched and wearing the neck brace, that image took a few years for me to get past. That said, now I wish him a nice rest of his life and for some reason really don't harbor too many negative thoughts towards him.

ATPB was better and is still the gold standard for how good this board can be in the offseason.

those are great. My fave hog related one is the fat baby bert when he gets hosed off in the driveway. There was a honey badger one too that was classic (I can't find the one I'm talking about here, maybe it wasn't a Freek one. TM was sitting outside and someone drops him off a package or he starts burning a plant- argh where is it?)

Petrino should lead his team onto the field on a Harley with a cheerleader on back, then spinout and wreck when he gets to the sidelines.

Then, have a Cardinal fly by and crap on him. No, make that a Falcon. Better yet, a Cardinal and a Falcon.
