you make it seem like there will be no drop off after losing a Heisman Trophy winning QB

Not saying that at all, just the opposite. As good as JFF is, our defense this year is equally as bad. Just trying to say that even our drop off at QB next year should be offset some (SOME) by a much improved defense.

Agree that if we have a big drop off at QB and our defense stays in the 100-112th ranked area we are going to suck.

My thoughts are if A&M's D was top 60 we'd be winning the natty this year

It hasn't been top 60 in over a decade, so that's asking a lot.

Auburn's total defense and offense are yielding/gaining the same exact number of yards.
Not only that, we've gained and allowed virtually the same number of yards in every game thus far.

AU total offense per game:
394
468
439
437

AU total defense per game:
464
422
415
457

Now that's balance.

For the SEC Championship perhaps, but for the Natty you need teams to lose. So they LSU does not control their own destiny, like Bama does.
