Good lord, these guys are high. I LOVE their thought process. Take away Manziel and we run the ball more. We have plenty of weapons and a very good offensive line that will only get better. If people cannot see this, they are blind.

Auburn offense has really struggled. Not having Nick Marshall here in the spring has really hurt us. I expect the offense to be much improved in the later part of the season. As far as defense goes...no excuses we just suck on D

Next year
1. Take away Manziel and put in a very good and mobile QB instead. We have a fantastic one in the wings now.
2. Replace a horrible defense with a top 50 or better defense instead of a 112th ranked defense.
Don't need a JFF if we have a much better defense. Most of these dimwits on here seem to think JFF is gone and Ags come back with horrible defense.
Defense is being addressed in recruiting process. We have cutting edge offensive scheme, very good O lineman, highly recruited lineman on the bench, a full staple of talented and young running backs that really don't get as many opportunities as their talent deserves, and a full core of big strong and fast receivers.
I like our chances. JFF is making up for our terrible D right now. Won't need this next year.

My thoughts are if A&M's D was top 60 we'd be winning the natty this year

As bad as A&M's defense is, they are #2 in the SEC in turnover margin.

The way you are painting this, you make it seem like there will be no drop off after losing a Heisman Trophy winning QB. I don't care how much potential your backup QB has, he is still unproven and thus a liability. There will be a drop off. Your defense may improve, but I have a hard time believing it will improve that much. It will either be the same guys who aren't that great playing or a bunch of freshmen with no experience. Neither sounds all that great. This doesn't include the loses you will likely experience on the O-line which in my estimation is your strongest unit outside of QB.
I'm not saying you will be horrible and go back to barely being bowl eligible, but a step back is pretty realistic especially when you consider that Sumlin hasn't shown yet how effectively he can replace guys who left (and if this year's defense is any indication...). He may end up being great at plugging in new guys, but I think we are still at the wait and see phase. After this season, I think we could say more about his abilities since most of the guys playing are Sherman recruits.
BTW, this goes for every team that is losing their starting QB with the possible exception of South Carolina who have Dylan Thompson who has played a lot of significant minutes. Your guys are unproven until they are the starters.
TL;DR Sumlin hasn't yet shown he can replace star players. Until then, I will remain skeptical.

Florida has the recipe lsu has wanted (in order to win BCS) for the last few years, yet I don't see UF as a contender currently. Is UF gonna make a run?

This part is debatable.

Multiple losses on the o-line? Jake Matthews is the only senior. Basically, what will happen is one of these options:
Option 1:
LT - Cedric Ogbuehi (RSSR)
LG - Jarvis Harrison (RSSR)
C - Mike Matthews (JR)
RG - Germain Ifedi (RSSO)
RT - Joseph Cheek (RSJR)
Option 2:
LT - Cedric Ogbuehi (RSSR)
LG - Germain Ifedi (RSSO)
C - Mike Matthews (JR)
RG - Ben Compton (SR)
RT - Jarvis Harrison (RSSR)
We have the potential to have a first round OL drafted every year for the near future:
2013 - Joeckel
2014 - Matthews
2015 - Ogbuehi, Harrison
2016 - Cheek, Matthews
2017 - Ifedi, Stuckey
2018 - Aguilar, Wilson
2019 - Matthews (3rd Matthews brother)

Are we sure Ogbuehi isn't going to leave early?

Conveyor belt theory:
2012 - Jake Matthews RT
2013 - Jake Matthews LT
2013 - Cedric Ogbuehi RT
2014 - Cedric Ogbuehi LT
2014 - Joseph Cheek RT
2015 - Joseph Cheek LT
2015 - Joas Aguilar RT
2016 - Joas Aguilar LT

That would be pretty huge if he decided to stay. Fluker has shown you can be a RT and get drafted highly if you are good enough, so I wouldn't put it past him to leave early if the scouts say he goes early.

He's only played tackle for 5 games so far. He was at right guard the last two seasons.
Even if Ced leaves, that moves Jarvis Harrison to LT and the 2014 line would look like:
LT - Harrison (RSSR), Aguilar (RSFR)
LG - Compton (SR), Wilson (RSFR)
C - Matthews (JR), Gustafson (GSFR)
RG - Ifedi (RSSO), Gramling (RSSR)
RT - Cheek (RSJR), Stuckey (RSSO)
Redshirting: Ledwik, Davis

thought 1. LSU looks like the most balanced/solid of the bunch to date
Thought 2. curious to see what the rankings are 4 weeks from now, and then 8 weeks from now

My reaction is that LSU isn't quite as obsessed with stats this week as last week.
