yes. Have their teams been as good? no. But they are still better programs. Could TCU afford or draw the interest of a big name coach if Patterson leaves? No. Texas and Tennessee are still more attractive jobs, have more resources, much bigger fanbases, better facilities, and more potential to be great. TCU is basically what Boise State was a few years ago. What they have now is not sustainable at a small private school. TCU went 4-8 just two seasons ago fwiw
