Torvik 2025 Projections
Think he assumes all players that could possibly go pro are gone unless they announce they are back. Like, all of them. Latrell Wrightsell isn't included for Alabama and there's no chance he's leaving. His current starting 5 for Alabama is Reid, Sherrell, Holloway, Youngblood and Stevenson. Somebody named Ward Harrell is projected to log 10 minutes a game.
For Alabama, for instance.
Best Case : Add back Sears, Nelson, Wrightsell. Add Cliff Omoruyi.
Move from #42 to #5
Best Case minus Sears (relatively likely) : Add Nelson, Wrightsell, Omoruyi.
Move from #42 to #13
Very fun to play with, though.

His spring projection for 2024 was a disaster. There is a reason he doesn’t archive them.. Some gems from last year’s spring predictions from an article on Big 10 projections..
Michigan State - #6
Purdue - #23
Indiana -#25
Torvik Projection for the Big 10
Torvik does a good job once there is real data. But preseason projections? Not as much.
Here is a thread from the summer about SEC projections. There were some amazing takes and predictions.

So the SEC:
13. Auburn
14. Texas
15. Tennessee
19. Florida
27. Ole Miss
29. Texas A&M
32. Mississippi State
42. Alabama
44. Missouri
48. LSU
50. Vanderbilt
76. South Carolina
77. Georgia
108. Oklahoma
111. Kentucky
120. Arkansas
This can’t be right. I’ve been assured that Alabama would be the best team in America and Auburn, without Aden Holloway, would be absolute arse.

Correct, it can’t be right. Torvik doesn’t even know what rosters will look like.
So how confident are you that Auburn will finish first in the SEC and Kentucky and a Calipari coached Arkansas team will finish 15th and 16th? Because if you think these are right, that is exactly what will happen.
His spring projections only do one thing well. They make him money.

You should take these APRIL Torvik projections and go make some wagers based on them. You’ll be rich! Lol

It’s a little early but gets clicks. We only have 2 players at the moment so ranking us and Kentucky, who’s in the same boat, is premature to say the least.

Meh, let’s see what happens because of so much change. It’s going to be a very interesting season for sure. I don’t think anyone should feel confident of anything in April.
We have some key players returning and some good talent incoming. We are lacking some shooters in the heat of the battle at times. Hope we have addressed that.

If Alexander and Kalkbrenner come back, you can bet they'll be up there.

Half the players are still trying to transport into their new teams. Who would have a clue how the next season of college basketball is going to go?
