Saw the coverage of that as it was happening yesterday...Tipton (Gamecock poster) was in Alabama near where it touched down and said it sounded like WW3. Strongest one I've ever personally been in was an EF-3 about 4 years ago in SC. Scary, destructive and yet oddly fascinating at the same time.

Never seen damage as bad in my life through my own eyes back in April of 2011. 15th St, Alberta City and Holt got buzz sawed. Crazy with what happened to the city I grew up in.

It sure does seem like it.

Tornados and floods have been the theme this year.

I was in the EF-4/EF-5 twister that hit Tuscaloosa in 2011. The aftermath was surreal. Seeing the town you had lived in for almost 3 years like that just brings out all kinds of emotions in you.

I was traveling home and in Birmingham when it hit yesterday. I heard there was a second one nearby in Dallas.

About a quarter mile from my house. First time my phone has gone off with that "bonk bonk" sound. Got hit on April 27, 2011, so we added a storm bunker in the repairs. Best $8k I ever spent.

Prayers for no serious injuries.

The weather all through the south seems treacherous this week.

It did yesterday with the Flash Flood warning.
Don't ever want to experience it again.

After the tornado hit back in 2011, when I got out of the house, all I could hear were the all the smoke alarms going off - nothing on fire, but with all the houses blown down and roofs ripped off, the alarms were singing. The next day, I was standing in line in the Burger King on Skyland Blvd - only food joint open at the time - and when the alert went off for the french fries, I hit the floor.

The wife and I spent 1/2 the night in the tub. The tornado that blew through Sunnyvale, garland and Rowlett started right after it passed my house. The devastation in Rowlett is awful and I'm afraid when the sun comes up tomorrow morning it's going to be worse.

Very glad everyone in this thread that was in that area is okay. Glad that Bama football players/staff are okay as well. As with the tornado yesterday, it came very close to hitting immensely populated cities in both Birmingham and Dallas. I cannot even imagine the magnitude of devastation and loss of life that would have resulted had those two actual cities been hit.

N. texas has been crazy. Tornadoes and flooding in the metroplex and then an upcoming blizzard in the Panhandle. Just terrible

Yeah...the stuff in AL and MS this was bad. Just followed what happened in DFW. MSU came in last night and is in Grapevine but haven't heard much in that area.

Just horrible to keep reading more of what's happening

Thank God this happened on a weekend. 11 tornadoes reported in the DFW area. The 5 fatalities being reported happened on 190 and I-30. Had it been a week night this would've been much worse as rush hour traffic would've been effected.
