Terrible.

I disagree with this list--and any other--that chooses to rank such a non-quantifiable variable as "student sections."

I'd put the 12th Man up against any student section; and I'm sure fans of other schools would make similar claims about their students.

aTm fans sure do have quite a bit of anal pain over the fact that LSU's student section is better than theirs.

I don't think that's the case at all.
LSU has a great student section.
So does A&M.
You think yours is better--completely understandable.
Aggies think theirs is better--also makes sense.
To each his/her own.

I wasn't referring to you, actually. You seem to be somewhat level headed, but your fellow Aggie's in this thread are awful upset.

I went to the LSU/aTm game there in 2012 and sat in the LSU student section. Maybe it was a nervous crowd, but I remember all of us turning to each other and laughing at the quiet to mediocre hum that was coming from the crowd while LSU had the football in the 2nd half.

And we literally made a few aTm students cry with our "UT rejects" chant that lasted a good five minutes. I'm serious. Girls were crying. Guys were visibly flustered. Great feeling. nb4 LSU fans are vulgar and terrible. That's what makes us so frustrating and tough for opponents.

So yeah. LSU > aTm.

I really don't understand why LSU fans are so adamantly against shakers. it looks pretty cool when everyone uses them in unison, and you really can mix your drinks with them

When I was younger I had one until Bama 2009 when Julio broke loose for 70+ yards. this obnoxious group of bama fans just about shoved one down my throat they were going to so crazy. stopped using one after that

I'm a pretty nice guy. SEC football brings out the best and worst in us.

I don't understand why people feel the need to make up stories. Also your fans aren't vulgar at all. They're actually very friendly. We had much worse fans in our old conference

Most Lsu fans think that shakers=Bama, and they want absolutely nothing to do with us, so they try to downplay it as much as they can, even though other schools in the SEC (Auburn, Arky, Tennessee, Florida) use them as well.

Why would I make up that story?

We're friendly, of course. But when the time is right, we can be vulgar and downright inappropriate. Like many fan bases. I guess we take it to another level sometimes.

I'm not sure, I'm not the one that made it up

I've been to 4 LSU games, 3 vs A&M where I have had A&M shite on, and experienced nothing close to vulgar or inappropriate

no you don't, stop trying to make your fans look rude and trashy in the name of feeling like a badass on an internet message board

Meh, I think you are flattering yourself too much. I think our fanbase collectively enjoys being different from the rest of pack.

Our fans used to use them in the 90s/early 2000s. not sure what happened after that

It seems like a silly story, b/c you thought people would cry about such a ridiculous chant (most kids in Texas who attend UTex and/or A&M were accepted into both universities--the qualifications are about the same).

That's not to say that you didn't see some bummed-out fans who hated to see the Ags lose; but I promise you that an inane chant didn't make anyone cry.

We hear far worse. Regularly. Our skin is as thick as it comes.

I agree. Our fanbase's reputation for being assholes is downright bullshite, ESPECIALLY when you ask a Louisiana Tech grad. I always tell them "Dude, the regulars that go to LSU games sell their tickets against you scrubs and the redneck bandawagon trash floods the campus that weekend.", and it's true.

I go to multiple tailgates throughout the season and we are always very hospitable to visitors. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but it is a totally overplayed accusation

Every fanbase will have a few who bad apples who do dumb things. That comes with the territory when so many drunk college kids and young adults are a large number of the fans. With almost every fanbase it's isolated incidents and LSU is no different in my experience. You can have a loud and passionate fanbase without doing stupid trashy things

pom poms are for women. That's why LSU fans make fun of them. You look like a fricking tool with a shaker unless you're a co-ed
