Why is Bart Starr on this list? This is second time in 3 days a list such as this has been produced. Look at his career at Alabama.

Yeah, I looked it up.

At bama, Bart Starr played one full season and threw for 870 yards and totaled 8 TDs on a team that only won 6 games.

That's it. One. year. He was benched and hardly played any his senior year after sitting out his junior year with injuries as well.

Stewart is nowhere near Tannehill as a player.

and WTF are you doing blaming Tannehill for 2011? That's flat out asinine.

I'm sorry but there is no way Stewart belongs in a top 5 of Aggie QBs. Hell, Mark Farris should be above him.

Johnny Football
Kevin Murray
Bucky Richardson
Corey Pullig
Edd Hargett

and if you want to go modern era only take off EH for either Tannehill or Jerrod.

OP didn't specify college career only and Bart Starr was an Alabama QB who excelled at the pro level.

If only college stats matter, Alabama has had a few All American QBs who had undefeated seasons, won SEC and national championships; and in the College Hall of Fame.

Allison T. "Pooley" Hubert
. Selected All-America in 1925
. He was 31-6-2 during his four-year Tide career
. Undefeated season 10-0 in 1925
. 1925 Southern Conference Champions
. Beat Washington in the Rose Bowl for a National Championship
. In the 20-19 Rose Bowl win over Washington, Hubert led an Bama second-half comeback for the victory
. He was a two-time All-Southern Conference pick.
. Played tackle in college, but was put in the backfield where he excelled at fullback and quarterback
. Inducted College Football HOF 1964

Riley "General" Smith
. consensus all-america in 1935
. Played in the East-West Shrine Game, the Chicago All-Star Game and the New York All-Star Game and was captain of his team in each one.
. won Jacobs trophy in 1935, given annually to SEC’s best blocker
. 1934 Led Bama to undefeated season 10-0
. 1934 SEC champions
. 1934 national championship
. Inducted in College Football HOF in 1985.

PRO
. Drafted 1936 / Round: 1 / Pick: 2 first ever NFL draft.
. Since 1st players picked opted not to play pro ball, Riley the #2 pick that year was actually the first player drafted who actually signed an NFL deal in the 1st ever NFL draft.

Harry Gilmer
. earned All-America and SEC Player of the Year honors in 1945.
. voted Most Valuable Player after leading Alabama to a 34-14 win over Southern California in the 1946 Rose Bowl
. 52 total TDs, 19 rushing, 29 passing, two punt
returns, one kickoff return and one interception return.
. Gilmer was one of the first players to popularize the "jump pass"
. finished 5th in the Heisman Trophy balloting in both 1945 and 1947
. Led Bama to an undefeated season in 1945, beating USC in the Rose Bowl, 34-14.
. 1945 SEC Champions
. Inducted in the College Football HOF 1993

PRO
. Drafted as the 1st overall player, 1948 / Round: 1 / Pick: 1
. 2× Pro Bowl selection (1950, 1952)

In my fist post I said this. Injuries, and getting the worst coach in college football history for his senior season hurt Starr's college career.

I included him because he was a Bama QB who put up HOF stats in his pro career.

Another Bama QB that could be listed. Only played quarterback for 1 season before moving in 1931 during Frank Thomas's 1st year as coach, to fullback.

John "Hurri" Cain
. All-American: 1931-32
. quarterbacked the 1930 team that beat Washington 24-0 in the Rose Bowl
. 1930 undefeated season; 10-0
. 1930 Southern Conference champions
. 1930 National Champions
. Inducted to College Football HOF in 1973

1930 - 8 *shutouts during season; only Tennessee-6 pts and Vandy-7 points scored on Bama that season. Outscored its opponents 273-13

*Samford 43-0
*Ole Miss 64-0
*Sewanee 25-0
Tennessee 18-6
Vanderbilt 12-7
*Kentucky 19-0
*Florida 20-0
*LSU 33-0
*Georgia 13-0
*Washington St. (Rose Bowl) 24-0

Michael Henig was the worst quarterback we have ever had. I really hope you're kidding.

John Bond
Jackie Parker
Wayne Madkin
Rocky Felker
Tyler Russell will be here after his upcoming breakout year.

He'd be #6 for sure. If Steve would'uv had the talent we have now he would have won the SEC. He was the most gifted passing QB in our history - could move in the pocket like nobody I have ever seen. The guy is winning state championships as a head coach in high school these days. Has won a state championship at every school he's coached so far. Three different schools.

Dan Reeves?

He was a good QB ... maybe one of our best competitors ever, in truth. He'd have to be #7 for sure and only because we didn't win enough games with Reeves behind center - but it really wasn't his fault. We always thought he was a running QB but when he threw for 350 yards against Nebraska it sort of changed things.

Damn impressive. To not be a QB school we have had some guys that just win. We have guys not in top 5 that would make other's top 3.

No it says a lot about how good Kyler Murray is (Kevin Murray's son, a unanimous pick among Aggies as a top 5 guy). Can't wait to see him on campus. I think he'll be better than his dad and he's likely to be the No. 1 overall QB recruit in the nation by his senior season.
