The Bama band sucks and hasn't played a new song in decades.

That's a matter of opinion, it's not like we don't play modern music in the stands or anything. We can't cater to everyone, but we try are best to please y'all.

It's not your fault but the MDB needs new leadership. Ozello is terrible. Everytime the LSU, UT, or AU bands come into BDS, they usually are louder and have better ability to keep their fans in the game.

I haven't seen the Bama band yet, but you've hit on what I don't get. Do you really want your band to play popular music at halftime? WHY? You think it would sound good? Are you insane?

Gimme J. P. Sousa any day. That's what marching bands are meant for.

I think the Sudler is more about historical contribution to college marching bands than anything about how a band does any specific year. UF band is not the #2 band in the SEC.

My top 5(as a former SEC band member):
1. LSU
2. Aub, aTm
4. UGA, Tenn

edit: before ags crucify me. forgot they are in the conference now

FWIW I think LSU has a very fine band. So does Auburn.

The music from all doesn't do a whole lot for me, though. What makes me sit up and pay attention to the Aggie Band is their marching, and the crazy crossing patterns they do. Love it, and as far as I can tell they're unique in this.

LSU's band is trash.

It's all about the Marching Maroons.

Weren't you at the Bama/OM game? You honestly think we've been playing that same exact James Bond show for decades?

I for one like Dr. Ozello. I think he is a great director and really cares for the students, but I respect your opinion.

Also it might depend on where you sit in BDS if you think another band is louder than us. Since the visiting band always sits on our side of the stadium, it's going to be hard to hear one band over the other. I know I can hardly hear the other bands play, even when the MDB isn't playing. I also know it's hard to hear the MDB from differnt parts of the stadium as well, and it's not because we're not playing loud. In fact read a thread on TD last about how annoying it was that we kept playing over LSU's band whenever they played.

Yep I still am a fan of the Nuts and an alum. I'm just hopping on the FSU bandwagon.

As for being number one, if we suck at football at least we can play well and put on some good halftime shows. Those kids work hard and the noterity and fame they've been getting has really paid off. Plus, our new band director has been amazing.

Michael Jackson

Back to the SEC. My top three are LSU, UT, and Auburn. Hopefully when I cross these schools off my bucket list, they put on a good show.

tOSU band is the best I've ever seen tbh. Very impressive. Probably the most precise marching I've seen as well as a great sound.

but this is an SEC band thread so g. t. f. o.
