I thought this thread was going to be about REM, Lynryd Skynrd, or even Hootie and the Blowfish.

it's a very prestigious award and a band can only win it once.
So basically every other good band has already won it and they were running out of options?

If you don't admit this you are either just being a complete homer or you have never seen the A&M band.

Golden Band from Tiger Land is the best in the business and no one else in the conference comes close.

If onion peel haircuts, all playing the same exact note at the same time, and playing army dress up is the criteria for no1, then the obvious answer is ATM

Not everybody digs that sort of thing. A&M is good at marching in straight lines and playing the same shows over and over again. They are the best at that, I suppose. But if you only do the same thing over and over you should be good at it.

Meh A&M band is ok, and the formations they make is pretty cool, but once you've seen them once, you've seen them a hundred times.

This.

Seriously though, our band has Golden Girls. Bands with Golden Girls have to be at the top.

If we're going by which band we enjoy listening to and throwing out all homer tendencies, then the answer for me is clearly "none of them", including the A&M band. If we're going by which band has obviously been tortured into producing perfect and complex marching performances while playing musical instruments and providing the most entertaining halftime performance, I don't think it's close.

The "and playing army dress up" doesn't bother me because you're an ill-informed idiot. Do you have any idea how many of those dress up band members immediately go into the military upon graduation? Any idea at all?

The A&M band is the best in the country and therefore the SEC and I'm an LSU fan
