Not saying y'all don't have spirited student sections, but what y'all don't understand is that the A&M 12th Man literally stands the entire game yelling whether the Ags are ahead or behind. The ONLY time the student body sits at a football game is if the opposing team's band is on the field at halftime (yeah, they stand for the band, too).

And it isn't a situation where you can sit... You stand on the bleacher in front of you. Since it is literally the entire section, you can't sit down unless the entire section is. This is a huge misunderstanding my teasip friends had when they finally came to Kyle Field, who also claimed "they stood the entire game"

Breed some smart children and pray they get in to A&M and then you'll find out.

Going to the Ole Miss game, drinking with people in the student section, it was basically a rowdy drunk basketball game. It was horrible.

that's because it's ole miss doofus. They have a 50,000 seat stadium and won like 3 games the year before. Go to any of the big 6 student sections and you'll see.

I have had an Auburn student tell me she hated standing the whole game when she came to visit. This was 2010(The year Cam Newton was there). You may think you stand, and you do for the action, but you don't stand the entire game. I promise.

They just don't understand

And genro, not trying to knock Bama students, but trying to make a point. yes, y'all stand for big games and big moments, but what about when, say, Alabama A&M comes to town? Or USA? Or UAB? Or some other mid major who's no threat to y'all? What about for your band?

A&M's student body does this week in, week out, regardless of oppponent.

Girls always complain about shite. They also complain that it's too hot, or I'm too drunk. Whatever.

At UGA, the students stand the entirety of the GAME. They sit at halftime, whoopty doo. aTm can claim they're the most awesome because they stand for the band too, but who really cares? UGA could make all their students raise their left hand the whole game and claim that because nobody else does that we're the best. In reality it doesn't matter. We stand the 1-4 quarters, just like most SEC schools do.

Exactly. For every big moment, every SEC fan base is going to stand. They sit when they can, which isn't much, but is plenty stretched over the course of the game.

You are right. I just don't understand how I and everyone stood the entire game. I am just fooling myself. But hey, if you think standing during halftime (that is TE only time we sit) is what makes your tradition so great, then fine.

Let me ask this. Is it possible hour auburn friend has family tickets to our games and doesn't go to the student section every game?

But, back to the original question. What makes it the #1 tradition you still have not answered that. What makes it better than the army navy game? Don't bring me this bullshite about just not understanding how awesome it is.

This thread has gotten dumb as hell.
What does it matter if your student section stands the whole time? Who gives a frick as long as it is loud.
One of the loudest away games I have been to was LSU Auburn back in 2010. Even if they all did sit down, it was still loud as hell.

Did you sit during timeouts when you could be doing yells to rattle the defense? I know you sit during timeouts. Especially the females. Be honest.

Real talk, I'll have failed as a parent if Texas A&M is anything more than a safety school or a scholarship cow for my kid.
