Read the entire post and don't cherry pick. Both players avg's are very comparable in college. Google is your friend.

I'm not trying to say where Ingram should or shouldn't be on this list btw, I just think it's odd that you think Ronnie should be higher.

Look at Knowshon for instance compared to RB. Knowshon had less career carries, more yards, higher YPC, and more touchdowns. Would you say Knowshon was better than Ronnie, thereby meaning he's better than Ingram?

Ronnie Brown was never really better than an average NFL back, but that has nothing to do with a players college career

Now look at what Ingram has done to show his "talent" in the NFL.

He's averaging over 5 YPC behind a terrible line this year

I didn't say Ronnie should be in the top 10 all-time. I said there are six RB's, in my lifetime from Auburn, that are every bit as good/better as Ingram. reading comprehension is your friend.

Talent wasn't the main factor in this list, like it isn't in any list sans the combine.

Ingram put a team on his back en route to a national championship and was a touchdown machine at Alabama. He averaged over 5.5 YPC for his career. He had some huge games when the lights were the brightest and his team needed him. And whether you agree with it or not he did win a Heisman trophy in a year that you can't say another guy hands down deserved it more.

Toby Gerhart had better numbers on a team where he was the focal point of their O.

Ingram was the focal point of the Alabama offense and put a national champion on his back several times. He was the only source of offense in the South Caroline game and had a great game against the undefeated florida gators in the SECCG.

You can argue Gerhart could have won the award but it's very debatable. You can't make a concrete case for him. Would you say that Gerhart or Ingram faced tougher defenses that year?

This is the reason he won. His numbers for the season weren't very dazzling, he just went off against Florida and everyone in America was watching that game.

Ingram was an average back with a great O line. Put him on a team like Kentucky in 2009 and you would have never heard of him.

Wait, what? (Julio gives you the finger)

Just a few posts above you said...."Ingram split time with Glen Coffee and Trent Richardson"

It's either one or the other.

Gerhart had 36 more all purpose yards than Ingram.

Ingram averaged almost a full yard more per touch

Throughout his career he did, just like Brown and Williams. In 2009 he was the focal point of the offense. That's not debatable.

It's also forgotten that Alabama had the most difficult schedule in the country that year. They beat 3 teams that finished in the top 10 and Ingram played great against all of them

TG had 8 more touchdowns (9 more if you include his passing TD).

??? Not even the best running back in Bama history. I would take a healthy Eddie Lacy, Trent Richardson and Shaun Alexander any day over Ingram.

My point was that you can't make a concrete case for gerhart. He had a lot more touches so I'd hope he could rack up more touchdowns. You can argue that Gerhart deserved it but you can also argue that ingram deserved it. It wasn't a clear cut race like the last 2 years have been.

And it's being overlooked that Ingram played against an exponentially tougher schedule than Gerhart. I know it's hard to believe around here but bama's schedule in '09 was absolutely brutal

Your O line was also a lot better than Stanford's.

No it wasn't. Stanford has had a great offensive line since Harbaugh took over there. Continue to skip over that Ingram played against a much tougher schedule though

Ingram played against six defenses that finished in the top 25 in total defense in '09
4 of which finished in the top 12

Gerhart played against one
