I tend to agree with you. Athletics and academics make strange bedfellows.

Isn't it interesting, though, that Briles was run out after taking Baylor to the top of the Big 12.
Same thing with Freeze and Ole Miss.

Just coincidence I'm sure.

This would have been just as big a deal if those two programs were still slumbering at the bottom of their respective conferences....sure it would.

Sunbeam...why are you glad they didn't hire Schiano? I would LOVE to hear some REAL concrete reason besides that he's not a "big time southern boy"...because that would be THE ONLY LEGIT REASON THEY HAD!!! dooooofus!!!!

Briles will never coach at a Power 5 school again. Not saying he shouldn’t be given the opportunity because I didn’t really follow the Baylor situation that closely as to what he knew and when. But the cultural climate in this country in regards to sexual harassment is toxic and in the case of Briles, we are talking about sexual assault. He will forever be radioactive IMO.
