I heard he was working up in the CFL, but I'm sure he'd be willing to accept a job offer from Tennessee.

Clay Travis didn't think Schiano would be a good coach and started his campaign, but do you think he makes the same fuss for Briles?

He didn't coach in the CFL.

A team hired him and the league stepped in and said Hell no and they had to nix it.

With today's landscape Briles will never coach again.

Encouraging a rape culture won't fly anywhere.

He may actually be a contributing factor in Kiffin and Kendall not moving on from FAU soon. They have been using him as an offensive consultant off the record.

The irony of that situation if it were to happen.

Penn State’s situation was worse than Baylor’s though both are hideous, but because level of involvement and responsibilities Briles’ baggage much bigger than Schiano’s.

Sarkesian made it back to coaching in a little over a year. Wouldn't be too shocked if Briles comes around again.

They weren't too interested in Tennessee's coaching search.

Sark's issues were entirely personal.

Briles ran a rape shop.

People in the state of Alabama are looking past the deeds of a would-be US senator. Why can't Art Briles have a part in that same blind-eye.

Most people in the US expect more from their football coaches than they do from their elected leaders.

That dirtbag should never be allowed to coach at any level ever again.

It would be pure gold.

Monday: We can't hire him because there was a deposition once and the guy said that he heard that guy knew about sexual assault that was taking place and went to his boss about it!

Friday: YES! We got Briles! Yeah, we know for a fact he covered up over a dozen sexual assaults and actively recruited players who were dismissed for sexual assault, but everyone deserves a second chance!

Really don't get you guys.

Do you want to win so badly that you want Baylor's situation happening at your school.

Screw it. I'm one guy. But Briles is a bridge too far. Totally out of following college sports (already out of following the pros) if Souch Carolina, for example, hired this guy.

Done with it.

And I'm not a Tennesse fan, but I'm proud of them for not hiring Schiano.

Football is entertainment. Nothing more. And if you let the tail wag the dog, then you are the one with the problem.

So, shouldn't you hire someone who will put an entertaining product onto the field? Learn from the NFL and leave off the field issues and politics out of the stadium.

Why did he wait 35 years to open it up?

Nope. If that is the price you must pay to put "an entertaining product on the field," then football needs to go.

Longer I go, the more I think Sewanee and the University of Chicago had this sport pegged. Enough is enough.

If we happened to lose students because we no longer have football, then we lose students. Somehow thinking the engineering and science departments won't lose any though.
