This. You just need to know how to work the system and find a better deal.

I feel sorry for you if you think the experience and the memories made are better on your couch. Not to mention the game is a great excuse for a Cali vacation.

Hell, you could fly to Vegas, stay there, and drive over to LA for a night for cheap as shite.

Still over $500 on Southwest. Add in a rental car, gas, hotels, meals, etc....you're still probably looking at a couple of boxes of ziti even before you buy the game ticket.

Yeah, lot of factors involved in it. I will say this, it will be a pro-au crowd overall tonight. AU fans have travelled in force and outnumber noles huge everywhere I have been here (vegas).

Attendance is declining everywhere.

I feel like CFB is losing some steam as a live spectator event.

Its on TV people.

The best seat for the game is at home and the worst seat at home is better than the best seat in the stadium.

The cost of attendance vs high definition TV (nearly every game for free, especially for larger schools). That's the drawback to being a big name school - you think you can charge more per ticket, but at the same time you're more likely to be on TV.

We still continue to sell out nearly all SEC home games, but there will eventually come a day when most people will wonder why bother seeing a game live.

I can't disagree. The new 4 team playoff is all about TV.

School's are going to look foolish for expanding their stadiums so much, TEXAS A&M and Missouri come to mind. THe NFL figured out the sweet spot is about 70,000 seat stadium. When stadiums are half full TV rating will decline do weak atmosphere. I do believe there is a sports spending bubble with salaries and facilities

That's cheaper than our regular season tix.
If I'm an Auburn fan and haven't already done so, I make a spur-of-the-moment decision, hop a plane, and watch my team play tonight.
Flight/hotel prices be damned.
