tOfficial: Little Brother Syndrome Thread
quote:
Anyone that has lived in the state of Tennessee for any amount of time knows your argument is beyond ridiculous

Depends on how old they are and how smart they are.

Vandy had at least a dozen conference championships in football long before UT did

Vandy started the SEC, not UT (ever heard of Dr Dudley)

Vanderbilt creates bosses, Vols create workers (That whole "like a boss" thing)

Current Directors Cup
#52 Tennessee 362.50
#66 Vanderbilt 256.00
(Dores will add M Golf and M Baseball and should move up and possibly pass the Vols)
So, with way fewer students, fans, and athletic budget the Dores are holding their own in sports in TN

It was Vanderbilt, not Tennessee, that made Texas quit playing them in the State Fair so they started playing Oklahoma instead.

Memorial Gym was one of the biggest college basketball venues in the country when built and set many attendance numbers at the time.

Tennessee has never won a CWS, Vanderbilt has won a CWS

In short, your argument is weaker as you do not even know the history of sports in your own state.

Wow, you're are committed to this troll. Vandy just won their first national championship in like 2011 and it was in bowling.

Yes, Vandy was great at football, in the year 1900. We've owned them for about the past 100 years. Not to mention we own them in basketball in every category and have a much nicer venue.

Go to every city in the state of Tennessee and see who they carry. Every one is a Vol Network station. Even the one in Nashville(you know, where Vandy is located)

But hey, troll on.

a) Basil Valentine has never been confirmed as a real person
b) While he spoke of turning hay to gold it has never been proven or reproduced since

Since a pound of gold is not a standard pound as troy ounces do not transfer 1:1 to standard ounces the value (by weight) may be closer to 12 standard ounces. If the spot value for gold is roughly 1,200 USD then 12 x 1,200 = 14,400 USD.

Figure hay between 250 USD and 500 USD per ton depending on composition and season and that means:

14,400 / 250 = roughly 46 tons of hay
14,400 / 500 = roughly 23 tons of hay

NOTE : these numbers are based on numbers in my head but pretty sure they are within 5 to 10 percent of the actual numbers if you would like to do your own investigation.

So by your logic, Indiana football > Notre Dame football in the state of IN
and… UNC basketball > Duke basketball in the state of NC

Even tho Notre Dame football has more MNC's than Indiana football and Duke basketball has more modern NCAA basketball titles than UNC.

Your better argument would be to say that neither is little brother to the other and that they just live in different neighborhoods in the same city where the Vanderbilt neighborhood has more white collar folks and more diversity. Does that make you feel better about yourself?

Racist?

No I'm not stupid your posters are just in full rustle for some odd reason over the thought that UT could still be haunting them in the SEC

In some markets?

Gold is pretty standard at the global level, but hay due to quality and shipment costs probably varies greatly by country and distance shipped. What is the current rate local to local in TX right now?
