Hill's "behavioral issues" are a joke. He had 1600 yards of scrimmage thru 12 games while sharing carries with Magee, and on a team with 2 1200 yard receivers.

Won't get an argument from me; he unfortunately tore LSU up before being injured, and I was very impressed. I have only seen two other running backs (Emmitt Smith and Herschel Walker) in my lifetime that have those kind of freak sized legs along with balance and power (Barry Sanders as well, but he did not like to run people over, he was just the human joystick). He can run you over, make you miss and is an all-around complete back when healthy, IMO, I liken him to being similar to Marshawn Lynch in running style, and with time, I believe he could be a great one.

How the hell is getting your ankle rolled up by a defender falling on you awkwardly = injury prone. If your going to make stupid comments your going to get called out. He is not injury prone considering he stayed healthy his entire 2012 season. So stop perpetrating this myth.

Seriously?

And Mason shared the backfield with another 1,000 yard rusher and 2 600 yard rushers. What's your point?

Compared to Mason/Hill, my statement is 100% factual.

ETA: I am not arguing Gurley is not the most talented RB in the SEC.

How so? Deeprig explained it pretty clearly up above. What happened to him could just as easily happen to any back in the country (and MANY of them would milk it and see a HUGE dropoff in performance, which Gurley did not...tho it did reduce his effectiveness).

Mason would have been hard pressed to have had quite the numbers in our offense versus the one he was in because we actually PASSED the ball and split carries between FOUR backs a good deal more.

We do know two things for sure though:

- He is of higher character than Hill.

- He is more durable than Gurley.

Valid he also rushed for 1,000 yards in that 3-9 season.

That's the purpose of stats like yards per carry, TD's per touch, etc. If you are just going off total numbers without a divider, then you could say Georgia Tech would have won the SEC 8 years in a row because they've led the nation in rushing because they run the ball on every fricking down.

The same idiots would click over to another topic about Marshall's passing yards being low, and say it's because they dont call alot of passing plays.

It's just fricking Auburn stupidity. That's all it is.

Beyond all of that....

DESPITE Gurley's weak and subpar ligaments, he was still better than Tre Mason by the numbers.

I would agree with you pre-injury. He just didn't seem to have the same speed especially against Nebraska. Played tough, no doubt, but didn't seem to have the same stuff post-injury.

Yep.. Ankle injuries are a tough thing for RBs to return to 100% after.

You're correct. It's been a lingering issue all season (as high ankle sprains often are) and I am curious to see if a full recovery is even possible by the beginning of the season.

That's an opinion, some believe Mason to be more valuable overall. Gurley is suspect because he is injury prone, and Hill is suspect because of behavioral issues. Hill and Mason will be drafted neck and neck, and it could go either way.

I don't believe any NFL team will turn any of the three down. I have to ask..why do you consider him injury prone? Because he had one injury? I mean, he had a high ankle sprain....I don't believe he was injured at all his freshman year. If he gets injured again in the coming year, I would say it might be a concern, but not after one injury in two years.

Why? It's not a slight towards Gurley. Ankle injuries are notorious for having lingering effects.

True...but injury prone indicates he will have more injuries. Not the same thing.

He injured, albeit minor to his left one, both ankles this year. Some are more prone to ankle issues than others. It's not a slight towards him talent-wise because he is hands down the most talented back in the SEC.

Somewhat related, are there going to be any changes to UGA's strength and conditioning this off-season? Flexibility issues are largely related to conditioning.
