IMO, the media in Arkansas is partly to blame. I've lived here for 33 years and in that time I have yet to see or hear one reporter who is critical of the program, when it needs to be critical.
I watched The Pig Trail the other day. The guy hosting the show said "we have time to turn the season around and still get in a bowl game". Nothing about winning a division title or conference title, just a bowl game. Complacency seems to have become the norm with many Hog fans and media. Not necessarily the Hog posters on here but when discussing football with the average fan "just as long as we get a bowl game" is not setting a high bar for your program.
When the fans and media start demanding titles and championships instead of just "a bowl game" then I think you just might see an uptick in your program.

And like you said that is the major problem. Those guys don't care if it's the Shreveport bowl or the NC game, just play one more game.
I've always been in the "build it and they will come camp". Dabo is a great example of taking over a mediocre program and taking it up. CBB ain't getting it done and after 5 years he needs to go and now.
5 years ago we were recruiting in the mid to upper 20's and things are still the same.
