You want to take out Miles' best 10 year stretch, then also take out our worst 10 year stretch. Numbers stay consistent

Miles is not that coach anymore.

Already had all this info from feeding the trolls over the years.

Good for you, now you know it's there though.

Now go read and upvote all the ignorant opinions that LSU should accept middle of the pack in the SEC

I don't usually upvote or downvote unless it's a fantastically ignorant post. Your posts are usually pretty sane. It's odd to see you rustled, that's all.

Fair enough. I'm really not that rustled, I'm just sharing facts I have saved. There is a lot of ignorant trolling by other fanbases, the majority of which are rustled by LSUs expectations. I think those expectations are valid.

Most of the people talking about the firing are just trolling you because they know it'll get a reaction. The more serious ones are the ones talking about expectations of the new hire, and they have a legitimate point. Remember Bama's woes between Stallings and Saban (and, frankly, between the Bear and Stallings, for that matter)? It's not that LSU isn't a historically strong program, it's that so many fans just assume LSU can get anybody they want, and that's where people really think your expectations are too high. I mean, you just have to look at UT after Fulmer. They have as strong a history as LSU, and actually a stronger one if you exclude the Miles era from both programs, and their best hire, at least in terms of what looked good on paper when the hire was made, was Butch. (Lest we forget, Butch was a red-hot name at the time.) Auburn brought in a guy who had a 5-19 record at his only other HC gig. Hell, Miles was an extremely mediocre 28-21, and Saban certainly made LSU's stock pretty damned high in the previous years.

The question of whether LSU is attractive enough to lure in certain coaches is not the same as the question of whether LSU will be able to lure them in.

The lesson of Arkansas and Tennessee fans being convinced Gruden was all but a done deal is instructive here. Sometimes -- a majority of the time, in fact -- programs get what is available, not what they feel they deserve. Temper those expectations and people will find it a lot less rewarding to troll y'all.

Exactly. You are an 9-3,8-4 team. Nobody's trying to tell u expectations. We are just telling u what you've always been.
Only mellenials believe LSU is Alabama.

You do realize we have 4 wins in our last 9 games right? We haven't seriously contended for the west since 2012, that's 4 straight seasons including this one.

Care to give me Alabams average losses per season?

I bet it's more than 2. So when Saban leaves you are fine with settling for 9-3 every year when it's clear you can do better?

Don't worry; neither does he. He just thought it sounded pretty good in his head.

What an intelligent, spot on post from the Vandy fan.

Obviously you're scared

I tried that last night and I was accused of being scared. Now I'm just trolling because, no matter what I say, I'm scared either way.

So frick it.

Good post. We have chosen to take that chance rather than the alternative of not competing for titles. Miles has shown over the last 4 or 5 seasons that is the type of team he produces now.

What is it you're trying to return to???

The Les Miles era was the best LSU ever had.

Conference championships:

Alabama 29
Vandy 14
LSU 14

This is a big error in judgment.

LSU is top 4 all time in SEC championships.

Why do you even have Vandy's non SEC conference titles on the same list? I also like how you list them ahead of LSU lol.

Arkansas has 13 conference championships as a program, since they joined the SEC 24 seasons ago they have zero

You just came into an apple debate with a crate of oranges.

Your first hire better be right because if it's not you have potentially wasted two recruits cycles.

The between LSU and Tennessee or Texas is that the cupboard isn't bare. Fulmer staid way to long and recruiting fell off a cliff just like it did with Brown. The same can't be said for Miles.

It's not

Saban is a great coach and isn't showing signs of slowing down like miles, Mack brown, Bowden, fulmer, paterno, and others were.
^ I know it didn't end well for most outside of Bowden.

If Saban were to have a 5 years stretch likes miles 12-16 I think y'all would be getting restless too.

Saban looks like he can stay on top until he wants to leave though
