He's like a better version of Pinkel
I'd almost say it's night and day.
Unlike Pinkel, who constantly claims in his interviews "we do what's right, we do the right thing", Richt doesn't have to make "such claims" because people can see with their own two eyes that it is the case.
Pinkel seems to think he is some sort of authority on "the right thing" like backing his players walkout,, or maybe "the right thing" is hopping behind the wheel of your SUV sloshed on jumbos til you finally get caught weaving way outside the lines. But I'm sure we can all just take Gary's word for it.. "he knows the right thing".
You don't see Mark Richt telling everyone how he's doing the right thing constantly, because he's just too busy actually doing it.
Then there's Gary "Loyality" Pinkel, the guy who brags that he "never fired a coach", and "we are a family" and on and on and on... I guess "loyalty" in his view doesn't include not cheating on your wife until she divorces you.
Pinkel loves to talk himself up about being high and mighty and righteous and oh yea, just "ignore my little foibles"..
there is really a gulf of difference between Richt and Pinkel and it goes well beyond who is the better coach.

"Since 2002 no coach had more players taken in NFL Draft than Mark Richts 79. Every other coach w/60 drafted in that span won natl title".

sounds like you agree w/ me?
You don't have to be a national champ to be a lot better than pinkel.

I honestly can see Mizzou being a perfect landing spot for Richt...not because I want him so badly, but just because he and Pinkel run similar programs. He'd be given more breathing room in Columbia, MO. Would be a chance for him to reinvent himself.

They gave him 15 years. I would not have fired him yet, but I get why they did. The program is stagnant. Sometimes, a change is good for both. I could see Richt getting a new gig and becoming a legend there.
Well put.
I keep wondering why he hasn't already taken-over down at his alma mater Miami?

sure he could go to the U, but that leftwing shitshow is not really what I'd call his "style".
why don't you greasy chicken peckers hire him?
otoh, he has too much class for you idiots.

The expectations in this league have got out of hand. There's not 10 Nick Sabans.. You're not going to win a championship every year..
I agree about the expectations, but the dude has been there 15 years. I can understand Georgia fans wanting a change. He's not like Miles in that he has never won the big one.

Y'all are forgetting Carroll as well. Meyer, Saban, and Pete made it look too easy.

Can we stop using 10 win season stats vs coaches that played fewer games?

10+ win seasons - Vince Dooley 6 in 24 years
Mark Richt 9 in 15 years
Everyone else 5
A lot easier now to win 10 games a year than it was back in Dooley's day. Just saying.

no doubt the world has changed, the "modern accomplishment" of going to a bowl, that requires 6 wins, or maybe only 5, isn't what it once was, yet the lame will cling to it as a huge marker of success.
