Ole Miss swept Alabama and Auburn.

Landmass State already beat Auburn.

It may be time to move the SEC headquarters back to Jackson. We have plenty of building space available downtown.

Zombies could rise up and eat your brain, but that's probably not happening either.

Why are you posting pictures of the area outside Legion Field?

Never thought I would see a place more depressing and trashier than Montgomery, but Jackson definitely wanted to be #1 in something.

Get the confederate flag off your state flag and then call us.

Has that ever happened before?

ETA: The answer is no. Ole Miss and State haven't even both beat Alabama in the same season.

SEC HQ used to be in Jackson?

I was going to call BS but apparently you are correct.

quote:

The wildly successful Southeastern Conference housed its first offices on the 13th floor of the old Standard Life Building in downtown Jackson. Martin Sennett (Mike) Conner, former Mississippi governor, was the league’s first commissioner. The SEC operated out of Jackson from 1940 until 1948 when it moved its offices to Birmingham.

Interdasting.

It only took 8 years in Jackson to decide they needed to move.

There must have been an 8 year contract. Takes a lot less time than that to realize you need out of that hell hole.

Lemme tell you how surprised I am that there's an MLK drive like 3 blocks away from that picture.

Like, shocked.

Well, at that point in time, Jackson was actually a solid city. Centrally located for all teams. Now, not so much.
