How much time are you going to waste arguing about a misdemeanor charge, which has been dropped already, for a college football player on a different team?

Why, because he's black?

I'm not saying to kick him out of school but there is no defense for this when his teammate faced the exact same issue so recently. This is a painfully clear sign that the coaching staff does NOTHING to try to prevent future issues. In other words, if there was any discipline for the previous incident, which I have to doubt that there was, it was not enough by a long shot.

why do you hate the 2nd amendment?

No? Haha. Because he recently purchased the gun (Little over a month ago), but there is a 4 month wait in Louisiana for a concealed weapons permit. Maybe he took the class a while ago, but you need a pistol to complete the training.

I know this because I am currently in the process of getting mine.

There is no law that says that pistol that you complete the class with has to be yours. Even at that, this may not be his 1st. I have/had more than one pistol.

I'm aware of that, and I myself have 3 pistols. The articles I have read say that the store he bought the gun from gave him a temporary permit. Does that carry the same weight as a CW permit, especially in a different State?
I'm not against Tim. I know him from back in high school. I just think that players need to be held accountable for their actions. That includes LSU players.

Held accountable for what actions? Being a citizen of the United States and taking advantage of one's Constitutional Right to bear arms?

What the frick are you talking about? Jesus Christ.

hes in Alabama not Louisiana, Louisiana law is meaningless in this instance. in Alabama you just give the sheriff like $25 and he runs an instant background check, if you are not a felon he issues the permit.

What gives you the thought that my comments reflect that I hate the 2nd amendment? Actually, you couldn't be further from the truth regardless of how hard you try. However, this is not a 2nd amendment issue, despite so many attempts by bama fans to make it. It is solely a matter of players failing to obey laws/rules and the ineffectiveness by the Bama staff to discipline players who break the laws/rules and discourage players from breaking laws or rules.

If you have a problem with the gun laws in Alabama, then take them up with the appropriate people (legislators) but it is not nor should it be up to the players to pick and choose which laws they want to follow without having to face consequences when caught.

He is a resident of LA though, right? Do they issue permits to non-residents?

So, you're saying that if you get a speeding ticket you should be fired from your job?

I'm sure you can give them 25 dollars and you get your permit, BUT Tim said he go his permit in Louisiana. No article I have read says anything about Tim having a permit from Alabama.

I don't want to see Tim get suspended from games, I just want Bama fans to admit that he was illegally carrying a pistol because he doesn't have a CW permit. At least according to all sources so far.

Again with the flair for the insanely dramatic. Try reading my comments again. Where did I say that he should be kicked off of the team? To educate you, there are other forms of discipline between doing nothing and being removed from the team.

Actually, he did have a permit. He just didn't have it on him. He has since given it to the Court. He had the receipt on him at the time of the incident and showed it to the cops.

Just admit you are arse hurt that this isn't a big deal and save us all your fricking bullshite.

But that comment doesn't appear to be true. He supposedly produced the necessary permits correct?

Tim said himself that he had a temporary permit for the gun. Temporary concealed carry permits issued by the state of Louisiana are only valid in Louisiana.

ETA: Failure to produce the permit also renders it invalid.

The State of Louisiana cannot dictate was is or isn't valid in the State of Alabama.
