REC has spoken. Doesn't matter what the law is.

Can you not realize that the temporary CCW permit does not reach the provisions agreed on when Alabama said they would accept Louisiana's CCW permit. This makes it invalid outside of the state it was issued in.
Take of your homer glasses for a minute and look at the facts.

I'm happy with their decision too. Just want it clear that he actually did break the law.

I've looked over Bama's permit laws. Their reciprocity agreement says nothing about temporary permits being invalid. The statute essentially says "if it's valid in a reciprocal state, then it's valid here." I'm not a lawyer, but I would take that as Williams' LA temporary permit is valid in AL for as long as it's valid in LA. Given that I have no idea how long a temporary permit lasts, I have no idea whether or not it was still good.

Louisiana law says that Louisiana temporary ccw permits are only valid in the state of Louisiana. Not carrying your permit while having your firearm concealed also results in the permit being invalid. If Alabama respects Louisiana's CCW laws, then they should respect this one as well.

That's not how it works. The permit is recognized by Alabama, but the possession falls under Alabama law. Whatever AL law says about not having your permit on your person is what will apply in this instance.

Which they ruled that he does not have a concealed carry.

Who are "they" and when did "they" rule it?

The court that he was charged in. No article has come out and said he had a CCW permit given to him by the state. They say he obtained a temporary permit from the store he bought it from. I have never been given a permit after purchasing a pistol. You can only get CCW permits from the state.

The court hasn't ruled anything. He was charged because he didn't have his permit on his person when he was arrested. The only thing a court has decided was the amount of his bond.

His story makes no sense to begin with. You can't get a temporary CCW permit from the store you bought the gun from. It is something that is goven through the state.

I like how you've gone from "LA temporary permits don't apply in other states" to "they apply in AL but AL has to follow LA law regarding having the permit on hand" to "he couldn't have possibly had a permit."

Your attention to detail really lends legitimacy to your argument.
