Its a decent OOC schedule, as with most years with Arkansas. Any other year and Texas is considered a good OOC win as well.

Arkansas is 5-5 against potential NCAAt teams this season, which isn't bad.

Vandy: 1-1
Mt. St. Mary: 1-0
UT-A: 1-0
Florida: 0-1
South Carolina: 1-0
Kentucky: 0-1
Minny: 0-1
Okie Lite: 0-1
North Dakota St.: 1-0

It has been a weird rollercoaster though. Looked good out of the gate, looked like garbage in January and now starting to look solid to good again

Thats the key in OOC scheduling.

UT-A, Mt. St. Mary, NDSt., were all favorites in their conference.

Stephen F. Austin, Sam Houston State are usually NCAA contenders.

Then mix in Houston, @Minnesota, @Texas, @Oklahoma State and it is a well rounded OOC. Not super tough(RPI wise) but right where it needs to be to help your overall RPI at the end of the season.

Most of your low major & mid major teams are going to start off bad, simply because they're traveling to so many P5 teams to play rent-a-games. Once their league starts, they begin to assert themselves and help your resume.

So we're going to say Syracuse is a good win, yeah? because they beat Duke. However by your logic they are:

Not in the top 50 RPI and 1-3 in their last 4 games. I would actually argue that as far as total overall résumé is concerned that Michigan is probably our best win behind Florida.

Syracuse currently has an RPI of 78, the lowest RPI ever to get an at large was USC at 67. Some good wins tho.

They have great wins! I'm not saying they're a bad team. But the thing about them is the same thing that bit us last year. #1 they have a couple of bad losses. Split with BC who is 10th in the conference and 9-19 overall. Lost to St Johns who is 7th in their conference and 12-16 overall. and Georgia Tech isn't that great either and lost to them. and #2. this one sneaks up on you and is something you don't think about until you are on the bubble. Syracuse has won a total of 2 games on the road all year. 2-7. When you aren't firmly in it is something that can come back and haunt you.

This just isn't a good enough team to win 5 of 6 against teams with equal or better talent.

UGA LOVES beating SEC bubble teams. Always have under Fox. He wants as much SEC company as possible in his yearly trip to the NIT.

They are a huge drag on the league right now. Never show up in OOC but are much improved in league play. They don't win enough to get in to the tourney but they always take down other teams with them.

Rinse and repeat every year.

A lot of it is because Mark Fox is extremely stubborn. He always wants to play in ways that do not help his team out and favor his veterans even if they aren't very good but eventually ends up caving.

Not every one of his teams underachieved but both of the last two have. This year, he may have made a similar mistake that he made with KCP with Maten and thought so highly of both of them that they were the "Kobe" of the triangle. When you play that way and especially play slow, you are easy to guard. Not only that, but he's failed to develop any other guard. Barring significant improvement, he's going to look pretty bad for this next year.
