I hate when people talk about, IT WAS 100 DEGREES WITH 100% HUMIDITY!!!1!!"

...Not sorry for caring, either.

OP is dumb, it was hot in Alabama too. It's summer in the fricking South, it's hot all over.

Wouldn't 88° at 60% humidity put the heat factor somewhere in the 92° range, if not higher?

Yours is the first mention of Heat Index.

88 degrees, at 60% RH (which puts the dew point at a reasonable 72 degrees), puts the Heat Index at just over 95 degrees.

quote:

And yeah, here in SC we've had 90°+ days combined with high 80s humidity ... it's not that uncommon.

In order to have relative humidity at 88% with a temperature of 91 degrees, the dew point would have to be 87 degrees. That would also put your hypothetical Heat Index at 125 degrees.

That almost never happens in sub-tropical/temperate North America.

In Baton Rouge, dew points of 80 degrees are fairly common in July and August, as are high temperatures of 95 degrees. Those conditions put the relative humidity at 62%, which doesn't seem high until you calculate the heat index for 62% at 95: 115 degrees.

Sunday at 3 o'clock in Baton Rouge it was 92 degrees with a 75 degree dew point, 58% RH, which gave us a heat index of 103.3 degrees = hot as shite.

Use these:

Temperature, Dew Point, Relative Humidity

Heat Index

...and you'll never claim, "100 DEGREES WITH 100% HUMIDITY!!!1!!" again.

Do they teach you to read in Louisiana? No one said 100/100... Thanks Bill Nye!

No, but they teach us all about climate and weather.

No, but they said other numbers that were just about as fantastic.

Thanks Bill Nye!

De nada.

**Great game that aged me about 10 years. Could've gone either way and fortunately my team came out on top. If Bama goes on and wins the Natty again we'll look back to this game as the turning point where the team grew up, especially Jalen Hurts.
**I'll be glad when Chad Kelly moves on to the NFL. Don't think we'll see a better QB until the Playoffs. He's given us fits for 2 years. I said the same about Johnny Manziel, too.
**The Grove was awesome. We were invited into several tents and offered food and drink. People couldn't have been nicer. Special kudos to the folks in the Zebra tent. The Square the night before was fun, too.
**One negative was it was 95 degrees with over 90% humidity and the concessions ran out of water and ice in the 3rd Qtr. This shouldn't happen at an SEC venue.
**It's been said before, but Ole Miss doesn't seem to know who they want their mascot to be. They're either Rebels, Black Bears, or LandSharks. Pick one and be done with it.

Fair assessment.

Sorry to be mr smarty pants, but no way was it over 90% humidity with a temp of 95. You won't find that combo even in the Amazon. As the temp rises during the day the relative humidity goes down. At 95F in Oxford on Saturday that was probably the day's high AND, the day's LOWEST humidity level. Then as evening approaches and temp starts to lower, the humidity at same time goes up.

Okay, here are official wx stats for Sat. in Oxfore, summarized:

During the game the highest temp. was 87.8F from 335 to 455. At that time period the humidity was 52%. The highest humidity level during game was at 66% from 235 to 255, when at same time period the temp was a steady 84F.
