**Great game that aged me about 10 years. Could've gone either way and fortunately my team came out on top. If Bama goes on and wins the Natty again we'll look back to this game as the turning point where the team grew up, especially Jalen Hurts.
**I'll be glad when Chad Kelly moves on to the NFL. Don't think we'll see a better QB until the Playoffs. He's given us fits for 2 years. I said the same about Johnny Manziel, too.
**The Grove was awesome. We were invited into several tents and offered food and drink. People couldn't have been nicer. Special kudos to the folks in the Zebra tent. The Square the night before was fun, too.
**One negative was it was 95 degrees with over 90% humidity and the concessions ran out of water and ice in the 3rd Qtr. This shouldn't happen at an SEC venue.
**It's been said before, but Ole Miss doesn't seem to know who they want their mascot to be. They're either Rebels, Black Bears, or LandSharks. Pick one and be done with it.

That's funny because every time I go to a Bama game, I have no idea the identity crisis between an elephant, a Crimson Tide (whatever the hell that is) and some continually garbled reference to being a yellow hammer.

Ours makes sense considering it goes back under a hundred years. Y'all had an identify crisis within the last few.

And I hate Rammer Jammer.

No, it wasn't. Pussy.

88 degrees, 60% humidity

You're almost never going to get over 90% humidity at 95 degrees. The dew point would have to be over 86 degrees.

The Grove is no different than the Quad. Grove is just a smaller version.

That's because there's a difference in a mascot and nickname.

DA we are the yellowhammer state.

our mascot is an Elephant and our "fight" cheer or friendly greeting to each other is Roll Tide. It might behoove you to study up on your history and find out where the Crimson Tide phrase came from back in the dark ages.

Ok, so inform the OP of this... Because nobody references us as Black Bears just like nobody references you as the Floating Cartoon Elephant Heads.

The landshark came from Tony Fein 8 years ago. He was an Iraq War veteran who played linebacker. Sadly, he passed away shortly after finishing at Ole Miss.

The Black Bear mascot was the nonsensical option force fed to the student body. Landshark was an option to vote for as the mascot but they designed it so ridiculously so that the Black Bear was the only palatable option.

This is why people mock it. Yall should go along with it, because it's more making fun of your silly administration than anything else.

Funny, I can never tell if Bama's mascot is an Elephant, Toilet Paper or Algae.

That was a good game for the fan and u are right about Kelly.

Ole Miss can't seem to stand up to 4 quarters of football due to the high temps and humidity.

I thought Saban was going to go into deep depression.
Good game!.

Except it has contaminated soil. They spill do much booze, that it's killing all the vegetation. That's why they have to eat cold chicken fingers on their China.

First trip for me as well. Ajax is awesome, Boure was alright, the square is a pretty cool night area, Proud Larry's was nice sports bar type joint, I'd tell you about the Library, but they charge $60 cover Friday night? Is that normal? Insanity... but it didnt deter people from what I could tell.

After walking from square area to grove on gameday, it did feel humid/hot AF. VHS felt like a cattle call with the construction and the small concourses.

Concessions were a disaster..even before they ran out of ice and water, it would take 5 minutes per person to get normal orders out.

The stadium was probably the quietest place I've ever been during a big game. I know its only 60k or so, but it felt very quiet.

Great game, met nothing but nice people and the flyover was great. Not sure if I'll be back, but it was a fun experience.

Wouldn't 88° at 60% humidity put the heat factor somewhere in the 92° range, if not higher?

And yeah, here in SC we've had 90°+ days combined with high 80s humidity ... it's not that uncommon.

I've been to a lot of games in Oxford ... they get every bit as hot and sticky as do the rest of us in the deep south.

The average dew point for Savannah in August is 71 degrees. LINK

That means that when the temperature drops to 71 degrees at about dawn, the humidity is 100% and water vapor condenses to dew that is visible on car windshields and grass.

When the temperature climbs to a high of 90-91 that afternoon, the RELATIVE HUMIDITY drops to about 52% (assuming the dew point stays at 71).

Just because the day starts out with a relative humidity of 100% doesn't mean it'll stay that way as the temperature climbs.

...and that's why they call it RELATIVE. It's a proportional measure of water vapor as opposed to the dew point which is an absolute measure of water vapor.

No.

The average dew point for Biloxi in August is 72 degrees. That's the temperature at which the relative humidity will reach 100%.

At 95 degrees the relative humidity will be about 48% with a 72 degree dew point.

See my post above.
