Running game especially Judd looked strong but the coaches failed to utilize him.
what? The absence of a running game is largely why you lost and your biggest problem as a team. Your running backs combined for 11 carries the entire game and 3 in the second half.

This is not a flame in any sense, just an observation/question. Kelly's game Sat. nite reminded me of his game against Memphis last yr. He started out hot as a fire cracker, taking the O up & down the field; second half, he pretty much fizzled in comparison. Not necessarily blaming him for the second half Sat. nite, but it did seem pretty similar. Is this a fair observation?

Thoughts on Ole Miss?

Y'all suck. My take on the Land Sharts in the summer was that you guys have to replace a lot of defense and a wouldn't be able to hold up from all the shoot-outs the offense will get the team into.

the Land Sharts are going to look like a larger, more athletic Texas Tech.

If only there was an Ole Miss board to discuss this on.

He's just not 100%. Not even close actually. Multiple times he was left behind an FSU receiver because he has zero lateral movement with his knee being the way it is. The one who operated on him should have their leg cut off because he basically was out there on one leg Monday night.

Ole Miss still looks really good to me. Definitely need to tie up those secondary issues and Kelly needs to learn how to throw a short pass every now and then, but you guys look solid everywhere else.

I always appreciate when someone tries to be reasonable on the rant - that doesn't happen often enough.

That being said, I had a very different take on your game. I agree that your DL looked very dominant in the first quarter and a half. Once they were gassed (before halftime), it was a different DL. That says to me that you absolutely have to improve the running game and be able to give your defense a chance to rest.

I thought the OL was a weak point. No running game at all, decent passing protection in the beginning but not so much in the second half. I definitely don't think the running game looked "strong" at any point.

WR did look good. Secondary was vulnerable.

Ole Miss is a good team. I'm evaluating them as a top 20, maybe even top 15 team. If they were Purdue I'd be much more positive on the assessment. Ole Miss should win at least 8 games. If they are to be better than that, the very first thing that has to happen is finding a way to make sustained drives. In the FSU game, 3 and outs and turnovers just killed your defense (which I think lacks depth, even though the starters on the DL look outstanding)

Coach Freeze contacted me today. He heard I had eligibility left and wants me to play corner. I told him I was in but a little past my prime. Pray for me.

It's tough sledding in this conference if you have a weak oline and a non-existent running game.

I thought that RB(Judd, Rudd?) had some potential if they had run him more. He wasn't a scrub and had some decent moves. They just didn't give him much opportunity.

You'll be fine. I had full reconstructive on my right knee, and the excruciating pain only lasts a few weeks. After that its only 2-4 times a week in rehab. Ts & Ps sent
