Ridgeland - Tunsil kept changing the amount and apparently the request went over the NCAA-sanctioned amount of $500. That's why Tunsil was told to see Barney.

The "NCAA sanctioned amount"

Yeah but Stallings basically told the NCAA to go frick themselves, which turned out to be not a great idea.

Very true. His arrogance was very costly to UA. Still, though, the charges for Langham signing that napkin were arbitrary. UA may very well have been guilty of more egregious charges, but the Langham deal, as slight as it was, was an easy charge to prove, and if the ncaa wants to bust you they will. After Stallings stupid actions, they wanted to more than they even did before. To compound the problem, after that, when it was clear UA was going to be reamed, either Stallings or Hootie Ingram could have stepped down and mitigated some of the damage, but nooooo, neither would, but within a year, Ingram was gone anyway, and not long after that Stallings quit. A total cluster f from the word go.

edit: I am also reminded that Al Gore went to prison on tax evasion charges because that was the easier charge for the feds to prove. Freeze is gonna be some big Hairy's fair maiden in the lockup.

I think you are looking for Al Capone here, not Al Gore.

ha. Yeah. That's the ticket. I'm pretty sure, though, we can find something to send off Mr. Gore if we just look a bit. He's from Tennessee. That's a start.

Just a little joke there, vols, though I didn't say it was necessarily a funny joke. I guess it depends on perspective.

: )
