Yet, if we were in the East, this conversation wouldn't be happening. I've already stated elsewhere that we lost fair and square without excuses, no validation necessary. Remember to keep the champagne in the bottle until after you win the NC.

Actually we would have either been undefeated....or we would have stayed home from the SECCG, then gone to the playoffs with 1 loss, so......we would have just taken the Alabama spot.

Yes it would. Why would anything have changed? At all? I mean, you would have stilled played Alabama in the Iron Bowl, then Kerryon's shoulder would have gotten hurt, and Bama would have turned around and beaten you the second time.
We would have had 1 loss to you, and would have gotten the #4 seed and Alabama would have gotten the #3 seed.
