AJ green is good, but not as Ashlon and not as good as Julio will be next year. He really doesn't have the frame to be the type of reciever Ashlon is.

It's actually Alshon, not Ashlon but I knew what you meant.

AJ is better than Ashlon or Alshon IMO. Jeffery is good though.

Utter BS. If that was the case, they would have a better record against both teams.

At the LOS, except for a few players here and there, they don't compete with the perennial top 3 teams in the SEC east.

And people are just conveniently forgetting, that the leading sack-guy in USCe HISTORY just left the program. They are going to have a lot of trouble replacing the talent and versatility of Norwood.

Alshon only started the last half of the season. He never got to pad his stats against the cupcakes. If he starts from day one he easily has a much better freshman year than A.J or Julio had. Next year teams will fear him.

They return 7 starters on defense and they can be weak against the run at times, but their pass rush and coverage will be among the best in the league. With an improved offense they will not be on the field as long either. Their defense has really been solid considering their offensive output has been putrid.

USC always has two things in their favor going into the UGA game each year. One, they play us early in the year. This doesn't expose their lack of depth. Two, we're the second biggest game on their schedule behind Clemson. They get absolutely jacked, meanwhile we have UT, UF, AU, and GT rivalries that occupy our time. If they surprise us again like in 2007, watch out for USCe.

I don't think UGA or UF will fear him. Garcia will still have to throw while running for his life and I'll take those odds.

Why are you big on USCe anyway? Give us some Commodore news for Pete's sake.

We need Vandy practice updates.

Why do you think the offense is going to be any different this year? Every year USC is supposed to have a better offense, every year its the same thing. Every year USC should challenge for the East, every year they fall off a cliff halfway through the season. And their defense lost their best player and one of the top defensive players in the league, he was the major reason their defense was so solid.

They always have great offensive skill players, but sporadic QB play and a shitty offensive line.

Last year their offensive line performed as well as it has in years under a new offensive line coach. They only lose their center on their entire offense so not only will the line be better, but the Skill players will also be better.

Scar with a better offense=trouble for the east imo.

No one cares how they played at in a Pizza bowl at Legion field.

We are talking about this up coming year with more talent and experience and a realistic chance at success.

The big 3 are not at their best right now and Scar is going to be better than ever before.

I would have see how the o-line and running game progress before I would consider them the front runner, but this is the best chance they are ever going to get.

If they have a consistent run game and a less sporadic Garcia then you can book that shite.

everyone cares except you. when a team with a conference record of 3-4 at a friggin "Big East" completely shut you down with 0 points, you have a problem. are you saying Big East>SEC in football?

It might be one thing if they played UF in Columbia, but with the game in Gainesville they have to hope and pray that UF has many more losses.

UF does not lose as many starters as people think. USC returns one more starter then UF does.

The west has been so competitive because most of the schools have had no stability like the teams in the east. The western teams are quicker to pull the trigger on a coach and more likely to get put on probation then the eastern teams. No team has really had more than five years of stability except maybe Auburn and Arky until their coaching changes.

This is kinda weird to me really... the west has been better than the east over the last decade but in terms of coaching turnover there hasn't been much of a difference I can see off the top of my head

Alabama - 3 coaches right? not counting the roll tide price incident... fran, shula, saban
Arky - Nutt, Petrino
Auburn - tubby chizik
LSU - Saban, Miles
Ole Miss - Cut, ogre, nutt
Miss State - sherrill, croom, mullen

Florida - spurrier, zook, meyer
Georgia - Richt
Kentucky - Mumme, Morris, Brooks
USC - Holtz, Spurrier
Tenn - Fulmer, Kiffin
Vandy - Woody, Johnson

There's not even a real strong link between # of coaches and programs struggling... certainly you will lose your job as a coach if your program struggles... but some coaches move on (saban, spurrier) or retire (brooks) when they had pretty high fan approval...

the coaching turnover for the last decade was the same at florida and miss state for example

People... USC isn't close to as good as Florida, and their SEC west schedule is just as hard, if not harder.

How can USC win the east? They'd have to have only 2 SEC losses, and with some good teams on that schedule, I just don't see it.

South Carolina isn't a team of winners, and the talent there, except for a few players here and there, is mid-tier in the SEC.

FLorida will beat their arse in November in the Swamp.

Plus, USC sucks on the road in conference.

Last 4 years:

6-10, with wins @ UK x 2, @ vandy, @ UGA, @ MSU, @ Ole Miss

Not exactly world beaters on the road.

And they have to go @ Vandy, @ Auburn, @ Florida, with Alabama and Arkansas at home.

No way do they win enough of those games to win the SEC east.
