USCe returns the most starters in the SEC and most of their really good players were freshman or sophmores last year. Garcia is the key and also can the offensive line continue it's improvement from last year. A strong running game would all but assure a trip to Atlanta for Scar.

UF-lost too many quality coaches and players.

UGA- Lots of young talent, but a freshman QB and a new scheme on defense mean alot of growing pains.

UT- This is the least interested fanbase in the SEC right now. Even with the new coach there is absolutely no buzz and apathy is at a all-time high. Horrid O-line and QB play= non winning season.

Interesting theory. It would exciting to see the East become as competitive as the West.

Like to see USCe finally get over the hump, but even with UF's losses they'll be too strong.

This.
Same with OM and Snead this past year. If Snead improved any at all from the 08' season OM is giving the NC fits for the west. If Garcia doesn't improve at all the gators will take the east, but if he does uscjr does have a shot at Atlanta

I would not be suprised to see the vols go 2-6 in confrence play this year. Wins against UGA and UK. UT seems to have UGA's number and UK even when they are better just can't get it done.

Vandy will beat UT this year book that shite.

If you know anything about South Carolina football, there's a better chance of Vandy making it to Atlanta. They've had great coaches and great players but it never translates on to the field. South Carolina is just one of those programs that is meant to disappoint every year. If one team is going to make a run at Florida next year, it's going to be Georgia.

Oh it definitely should be. With UF full of question marks it should be very competitive.

If Garcia can be JPW like and just put the ball in the hands of Ashlon, Gurley, and Saunders(best TE) they can have a real shot. Also with Lattimore I expect them to have a more physical running game, but it's also dependent on the O-line which has been the weak link for the last half decade.

The west has been so competitive because most of the schools have had no stability like the teams in the east. The western teams are quicker to pull the trigger on a coach and more likely to get put on probation then the eastern teams. No team has really had more than five years of stability except maybe Auburn and Arky until their coaching changes.

This left the division up for grabs most years.

With Bama having stability it has not been very competitive at the top. They won it by atleast 3 games the last two years.

South Carolina isn't even close to having the o-line or coaching of the '08 Bama team. South Carolina has some nice skill position players and a good young secondary but that's pretty much it. They've actually had more talented teams in recent years and barely finished over .500 in those years. Even in a really down SEC East, I don't see them capitalizing.

The SEC west has also been the superior division in the past five years. It was really down in the late '90s, early 2000s because their top two programs (Alabama and LSU) were really struggling.

The western teams really seem to emphasize football more maybe because they have all tasted success except Ole Miss.

Programs like UGA- constantly underachieve and are ok with losing to UF every year and getting blowed out by bad UT teams. Program is also very stale.

UT- The UT fanbase as been very subdued for most of this decade. Fulmer's tenure became stale and Kiffen bolted after a year of the fan base making excuses for his behavior. Dooley kind of boring and he isn't recruiting like Kiffen.

UF- Will take their lumps this year and be contenders for it all again the next year.

UK- Basketball is back on top so football is an after thought again.

Vandy is well Vandy.

People that say UF is going to take their lumps this year, and win next year, are either

A: Not doing any research

or

B: Retarded.

If UF is going to make a run at a title, it is THIS year. In 2011, UF will be thin at DT, and could possibly have to replace John Brantley with, at best, a true sophomore QB with an uglier throwing motion than Tebow that ended up a 3 star ATH propsect in most recruiting services. They'll also have to replace MORE DEFENSIVE STARTER THAN THIS YEAR. Probably 8 compared to 6 this year.

So no. UF will not take their lumps this year. They will win the East this year, and take their lumps in 2011.

And South Carolina is one of the more consistently overrated "dark horse" teams in the SEC.

They consistently stink on the offensive line and they haven't had a good QB in years, and until I see Garcia play well more than two games in a row, I won't believe that the offense has gotten over the hump.

On defense, they always fall apart at the end of the year, and their special teams has been mediocre for years.

SC has @ Auburn, gets Alabama and Arkansas at home, @ Vandy (who has beaten them what, 2 out of the last 3 and almost won again in 2009) and the killer @ Florida at the end of the season.

No way does this team win the eastern division.
