This is the first time in 14 years the SEC has only one team ranked in preseason AP Top 10

That's pretty weird to think about.

Obviously, the ACC is now the class of college football as everyone is saying. It was a good run, but it is over.

Preseason ranking do not matter, only the final rankings do.

2004 Auburn would disagree with you.

No doubt. And these retards here actually think it is perfectly ok to want all of us to lose our out of conference games.

Honest question. Is anyone actually buying OK State, Washington, or Oklahoma over LSU / AU ?

PS: I only left off Wisconsin because as an LSU fan I have no leg to stand on due to the flop in last years opener. LOL

Preseason rankings matter a lot less now in the playoff era.

It may effect your seeding but probably not whether you get in.

Oklahoma won decisively against Auburn just 7 months ago and OU has a returning senior Heisman finalist QB. Auburn has a rookie QB (but gonna be a damn good one)..

So yes, that one is understandable. The rest I'm with you.

No doubt. Being ranked in the top 10 to start the year isn't as important but winning your conference is and it is a good thing for your conference to be recognized as the best or very good at least. TCU or Baylor may have had the best team in 2014 but were left out of the playoffs because the big 12 sucks. It could happen to an 11-1 LSU team in the future if the SEC continues to decline. Openly rooting for all conference teams to lose their OOC games just doesn't make sense to me.

Agree. If you want your team to be in the playoff discussion, you should want every opponent on the schedule to be highly ranked when you play them.

OK, you convinced me. I'll only root for Bama to lose all their OOC games (and the SEC ones, too.)

I'll be cool with everybody else.

I think it's more of that the other SEC coaches... think that if i can keep it close for 3 against Bama then maybe i can keep my job. Instead of going with a game plan that attacks Bama few weaknesses... the only one i can see
this year of course would be the kicking game.

Now that I can I totally agree with although I personally hope my rival beats Clemson. Good luck....

Last time was 2003, right?

Didn't the SEC have a national champion that season?
