What exactly do you think hearsay is?
Legally speaking, hearsay is anything that isn't testified to under oath. A victim giving an account to a police officer, lawyer, social media, etc... is considered hearsay until he or she testifies under oath.

I hear ya.
I made a similar comment in another thread, but I deleted it.
I'm anything but a Freeze apologist, and my disdain for OM is real.
But the "abuse" stories are starting to feel a little like this to me ....
If/when anything definitive is revealed, the guy deserves everything he gets.
In the meantime, it's tough to watch.

The terms doesn't even apply unless you're in the courtroom. So, with that in mind, an individual's firsthand account would not be hearsay. The statements Freeze made to her would also not be hearsay under the party opponent exception. Just an inappropriate use of that word for the sake of sounding smart.

Did I say that? It's just not crazy for me to believe a guy that was calling prostitutes on his work phone had some past behavior that falls in line with what he got caught for at Ole Miss.

Calling a prostitute & forcing a 13 year old to strip in front of him are not in any way "falling in line" with each other, in my opinion.

Or maybe they became SJWs b/c a supposedly respected pillar of the community at a Christian school was going around creeping on teenage girls?

Drunk college girls will sometimes allege rape or sexual assault in the days or weeks after a regretful, but consensual encounter. for various reasons.
I don't believe that women are generally prone to making up stories of sexual assault or harrassment from a decade ago when there is little to no chance for material gain or personal vindication. Especially in instances where it is very public and possibly very embarrassing.
I'd err on the side of there being a lot worse stuff that isn't being discussed openly on social media.

I disagree. Obviously we are dealing with a sex-addict here. Those two behaviors fall under the same umbrella. Some of the stuff being discussed most definitely falls under the category of "grooming" and sexual assault.

I heard about him forcing the girl to take off her Grateful Dead shirt what seems like ten years ago.

She said she was in 8th grade, so somewhere between 12-14.

I'm sure you defended Jerry Sandusky or the Baylor program.
It's fine to just say
"Those stories sound bad, but I don't know if they're true."
Because that is the truth for 99.99% of people talking about this subject

More to the point, these side rumors always pop up following big news like this, Cam, Sandusky, Baylor, etc. I'd be surprised if even one person really goes on the record about anything at Briarcrest.

I may be completely wrong...but what if I am not? When I am on my deathbed, I have one less thing to contemplate. Sleep well now and on your deathbed tough guy.
