It's what has happened at Bama. In 2007 an 11-2 UGA team beat a depleted Bama team 26-23 in Saban's 4th game at Bama. The next year a 10-3 UGA team got waxed 41-30 in a game that wasn't nearly that close.

How would you compare getting an arse beating by South Carolina to the 1980 season?

It obviously wouldn't compare completely but I think the whole Gurshall thing + the chance to beat notre dame again is just cool. If we win and gurley separates his shoulder vs Notre dame and still plays well. Now that would be crazy haha

So I saw a newspaper while I was back home in Atlanta for thanksgiving. They say this is the most important game for Georgia in the past 30 years. It's just another game for Alabama....puts things into perspective.

True we got killed. Florida and Alabama were just incredible that year. Its hard being preseason number 1. See Georgia Alabama and Usc if you doubt that

So what you're saying is that the better team won? Kinda like also happend in 2007, and 2004, and 2003.

There haven't been any upsets in any of the Richt/Saban matchups. And I know you'll now say "well that bodes well for us Saturday since we're favored" but I disagree. Vegas betting lines are for gamblers, not to determine who's better. I think any objective fan can see that bama and Georgia are pretty evenly matched.

I agree with that statement. Alabama has turned into a dynasty. There is no denying that. If Georgia wins I think it puts Georgia back on the top of college football. Ironically uga was takin off by Alabama in that blackout game. We can be put back on top with a win over alabama

I agree they are evenly matched, but alabama should be favored. I think that there is a
45% chance Georgia will win by 10 or less
40% chance Alabama will win by 10 or less
15% chance Alabama blows us out (murray would have to play bad)

If they win the NC this year, sure.

If we win Saturday, you can't really call them a dynasty. If that's the case, under Saban they will have 1 SEC title, although they will have 2 NCs. 2 NCs in 6 years doens't make a dynasty.

If losing to USC 35-0 is special, then OK.

UGA wouldn't be put on top of college football if they won it all (just for the year). Didn't Auburn do that once. How long has Richt been coaching at UGA?

WTF are you talking about? AU was bad in 2008, won 8 games in 2009, cheated their way to win it all in 10, was bad last year, and is atrocious this year.

Richt over his career has averaged winning about 10 games. You can't compare us and auburn.

You are no Auburn but you can't say winning the NC one year puts you up as the program on the pedestal.

I didn't mean being the top of the country as like a dynasty or anything cuz that would be ridiculous. We would be on the same level as alabama, lsu, and florida (i guess there still here even though meyer is gone)

The last time Bama had 4 shutouts in 1 season like this year it was 1979 and we won the NC. We also made it back to back NC, 78-79. Does this mean it's happening again? Who can say.

I forgot...tell me more of the Legend of the triumphant UGA TD in garbage time, against our 3rd string defense!
