LSU is one of the 10 or 11 best programs of all time so it wouldn't be all that embarrassing. We're proud of our history.

Just pathetic to cut out Saban's first year.

They didn't even go with a semi-defensible timeline starting with the 2010 draft (the first year Saban's first class was eligible for the draft). 2009 draft was Shula recruits.

That's not even good narrative shaping.

Yep, I can understand starting with the 08 draft. Maybe they used that game/year as the start of the dynasty run.

Did Bama not anyone drafted in 08? IDK and don't care enough to look it up.

So what is your problem with this starting at 2008 then?

If we dominate you in every category for any timeframe you choose why complain about starting at 2008

The 2009 draft class is a good starting point, IMO. While those players may not have been recruited by Saban, two years under him is significant.

No, they didn't. LSU had 7 with Dorsey going top 5.

All Time Bama has had 338 draft picks, with 52 1st rounders. LSU has had 317 draft picks with 38 first rounders.

I don't really have a problem with it per se. it's just pathetic and worthy of my mockery.

Yep, that's what I was implying.

Either way, it's still bad arse the amount of talent the 2 teams have pumped out over the past 8 years.

It sure leaves out the 7 players from LSU selected in 2008.

Not really, none of the players he signed were eligible yet.

Like another poster said, should just look at current players in the League.

Being coached up by the best in the business for two year is most definitely significant.

You're missing the entire point. Arbitrary starting point is still arbitrary.

Alabama fans are constantly mocking others for using arbitrary staring points when analyzing stats, yet they do it themselves for the same reasons.

There's a word for that...

No, but it doesn't get much better for your team if you go back further. Alabama has been good at football for a long time.

It does if you use the arbitrary staring point of the 2004 draft.
