I don't think they thought it was beneath them. I think they were so concerned over what the NCAA would decide that they COULDNT apologize and still seem even remotely credible in their defense.

This is the ultimate irony in all of this. Because now, thanks to being between a rock and a hard place with Nutt, they have found themselves in the exact same situation anyways.

Ole Miss now has the impossible task of trying to convince the NCAA that High Freeze is a man of integrity on the job, while knowing full well that he has been exposed as a scumbag OFF the job.

ETA: The NCAA is going to throw the book at Ole Miss for all of this. They now have everything they need to essentially "prove" Ole Miss has been lying to them for four fricking years now.

It may actually work to Ole Miss's favor at this point if this thing DOES turn into a criminal case. They could go the Penn State route and claim it's outside the NCAA's jurisdiction.
