- Ole Miss coach in the middle of a massive NCAA investigation is fired for calling hookers on his school issued cell-phone. The NCAA investigation itself involves secret witnesses from rival school, bong smoking gas mask wearing 5-star recruits on national TV and free hunting trips. As SEC as SEC can get.

- Ole Miss coach, of course, is basically a Baptist preacher. He preaches the gospel and Christ everywhere he goes and wears it on his sleeve.

- Ole Miss coach, prior to returning to be the head coach at the University, was a high school coach of a now famous NFL player who had a film made about his story. Ole Miss coach was portrayed as a doofus in the movie, but also had a cameo as an assistant watching film of said recruit. He was standing behind one Houston Nutt, then Arkansas head coach.........

- Information from these calls is ONLY obtained because the bitter ex-Ole Miss and Arkansas head coach, a mainstay of the conference and true character, is suing Ole Miss. He is suing them because they blamed him for cheating with the NCAA. However, the lawsuit in all likelihood would have been completely avoided had Ole Miss, and specifically Freeze, apologized to him as he requested months earlier. They refused, and Nutt challenged then to the 21st century version of a duel.

- Previously mentioned ex-head coach, of course, was fired for his OWN texting/call scandal from Arkansas

- The Chancellor of Ole Miss, who was one of 2 individuals doing the firing, also happens to be the brother of the former US Senator from Louisiana, David Vitter. David Vitter, of course, was guilty of soliciting prostitutes in Washington while serving as Senator for the great state of Louisiana.


As some said last night, this is a story so rich in over the top Southern stereotypes that even John Grisham couldn't take it to print. Soak this sucker in. We don't get very many of these juicy, you can't make it up type stories in this conference or region anymore.

The SEC is fun again. We are back to being our old renegade, regional culture filled, immoral but still "good people" selves again. The 1980's and 1990's are BACK BABY!

Im still in awe of OM taking the stance of going down with the ship. They fired one guy which was the high school relations guy with the AD. They know they're dirty yet won't cut their losses and instead are choosing to go out in an ugly and embarrassing manner like Freeze. There will be more.

You are correct about this. All Nutt wanted was someone from Ole Miss to apologized, in public, to him. They were too caught up with saving Freeze and their own job that they felt it was beneath them.

You have to go back to the Mike Dubose/Ronnie Cottrell era of the late 90s to see this many Southern contradictions of corruption and immorality done with such self righteous cluelessness. Well done Ole Miss.

That's what I'm saying. Is Bama going to let these OM upstarts out-do you, or are you going to return to those glory days when the Tide bestrode the SEC like a Colossus?
