There are only 4 active head coaches in College Football with a national title to their names:
Saban
Meyer
Jimbo
Dabo
Those are your elite coaches and everyone else is trying to climb the mountain
A year ago, that list included Les Miles. Now go to Tiger Rant and start a thread about how they fired an elite coach. Take some heavy-duty noise cancelling headphones for when they start screaming at you en masse.

Just to state the obvious.
You can be Elite and then just coast/sit on your laurels.
I think that we can all name some of those coaches.
I agree that the 4 National Championship winners are the current Elite.

Patterson has won six conference titles. What has Harbaugh done in college that matches up to Patterson's accomplishments at TCU?
The PAC10 and B1G have been slightly tougher than the MWC ever was.

Elite as in having AP top 5 team pretty much year in year out. There are only 5 coaches. Welcome to the SEC coach Kelly.
Since when are you an elite coach without winning a National Championship. I only see 2 in your list that have. Also you leave out Dabo Swinney?

TCU has built statues of Patterson on campus, so yeah there is one guy.
Funny 'elite talk' from an Arkansas fan. He's a better coach than your team as ever had. Patterson took them to 2 BCS Bowls and won the Orange Bowl. TCU has finished the season ranked in the Top 10 five times since 2008.
Arkansas has never won a BCS bowl and has finished the season ranked in the Top 10 ONCE IN THE PAST 30 YEARS.

Patterson has a .650 winning percentage since joining the B1G, he also has two 11+ Win Seasons since 2014.
Arkansas has a whopping two 11 win seasons since 1977...
Please excuse me if I don't take your 'elite' opinion seriously.
