not saying it absolutely won't - at the end of the day we're both guessing on a message board. i think the TV contracts will be too difficult to manage since it is a Thanksgiving day game. You would have to move another game to that slot which gets much more difficult because of the holidays. I just don't think it happens. WLOCP is the path of least resistance.

Except then you are fricking over another big 6 team in Uga.

I think they can manage the tv contract since the game would still be on tv. They probably wouldn't even need a filler.

Both teams had contractual agreement and ample opportunity to play the game this weekend. One wanted and begged to play. The other team didn't want to play this weekend and chose to delay and fail to respond long enough to avoid playing a weekend it didn't want to play. SEC did nothing when it could have made the game happen this weekend - even in Gainesville since all have known since yesterday afternoon that the storm damage impact to the State of Florida was mostly going to be a non event. Turns out the game could have been played Saturday at later time and certainly could / should have been played Sunday or Monday if planned from Thursday as tentative if storm was as non impactful as it appeared it would be on Thursday night. Turns out it was even less impactful.

No reason to cost LSU, Ole Miss, UGA, S Alabama or Presbyterian fans - who are innocent in this fiasco - more loss of money they have spent and plans they made just because FL and SEC admin were cowards or incompetent. At this point, the fairest solution is to rule the game a forfeited loss by UF since it is UF who refused to support a solution to play the game this weekend when it was scheduled. But the SEC won't do that because it's complicit in this fiasco via inaction and incompetence. So we are simply left with the first canceled SEC game in a very long time because UF are cowards and the SEC is incompetent.

but it wouldn't be on Thanksgiving when millions of eyeballs will be on the game. Plus are there games already scheduled for TV on Saturday? Who are we bumping off of TV so we can play TAMU?

Why wouldn't they need a filler? What goes on TV in our place? Andy Griffith reruns?

Someone is getting inconvenienced and I think it will be UGA.

They cannot simply move the cocktail party to Athens or another weekend. First, the city of Jacksonville has a say because the schools have a contract with them for the game. More importantly, this is not simply a game where you have a hotel room for a night. People plan vacations around this game, rent condos and houses for the week or long weekend, etc. move or change the game, you are big time screwing those folks. As much as McGarrity likes to bend over and accommodate whoever asks him, this is a non starter

Yeah, as a Dawg fan I wouldn't want WLOCP moved.
And if it IS moved I'd want it in Athens.
How many teams are now affected by this UF move??

Curious as to who is going to write that $6.5M reimbursement check that LSU would be owed for losing game revenues on top of the $1.5 buy out to S.Alabama?

i really think it is path of least resistance. everyone keeps a home game and it is really just a matter of switching SEC for SEC - not switching OOC for SEC in the middle of the november stretch. I don't think you even have an issue with lost revenue if we do it this way.

completely reasonable but that's up to limp wrist Sankey.

potentially a great deal. everyone trolling LSU fans today will be bitching about Florida's attempt to game the system by year's end.

Sadly it looks like a 3rd sec team will be draged into this mess somehow if they want to salvage the lsu florida game. Another teams schedule would have to be changed. I'd say the most likely scenario is a&m moved to saturday assuming lsu gets paid 6.5 million.

no way - who plays on Thanksgiving in our place? Who is paying us $6.5M?

WLOCP has to be moved.

Idiot. You can't force other teams to change their schedule like that. Fans have plans set around these schedules. You'll end up with half empty stadiums if you start changing bye weeks around at this point.

The UGA-UF game won't be touched. Way too much logistical stuff around that game to move it.

All they have to do for that is somehow get Jacksonville to agree to move it which will be incredibly tough and somehow convince Florida's and uga's ads to move it since it screws over everyone who planned to go to the game. Florida needs to pay the buyout of the south Alabama game and the sec pays us the rest for the 6.5 million.

i believe Sankey has that power. Given he is a feckless milquetoast, ineffectual coward but i think he could do it if he so desired. hopefully the shame of getting played by Foley helps him muster the courage to do the right thing and move the WLOCP.

there's "logistical stuff" around everyone's games. It's the only option that results in a fair schedule for everyone given UForfeit's gaming of the system.

If that happened uga's ad would be fired immediately. Their fans aren't going to put up with that.

Georgia coast gonna have lots of damage due to surge and storm. Moving the UF game to Athens on 22nd might not be a bad idea. Lots of reservations for UGA fans on the barrier islands during WLOCP weekend gonna probably be in jeopardy anyway.

Sankey needs to fall on the sword and publicly say this is his decision and his decision alone. This is what happens when UForfeit makes a selfish move and does not consider other conference members.

this is yalls mess, we aren't getting dragged into it. Despite what some may think, the entire league doesn't have to bend over backwards to accommodate LSU.
