34. Auburn (7-6): Consider this one part healthy skepticism about what the Tigers can muster and one part a determination not to look silly by overrating Gus Malzahn’s bunch like last year. With Clemson coming to the Plains for the opener, it will be clear soon enough just how competitive Auburn could be this season.

That isn't a bad ranking for them. We don't know if their offensive problems have been solved but even last year Auburn was good enough to roflstomp a good Memphis club in their bowl game.

These rankings, like most all of the preseason rankings, show how tough the SEC West is going to be:

#30 Arkansas
#32 Texas A&M
#34 Auburn
#41 Mississippi State

There likely won't be much separation between the #4 and the #7 team in the West. All of these four are capable of beating Bama, LSU, and certainly Ole Miss if they catch them at the right time.

It's going to be interesting to see if everyone just beats up on each other, or will one of these teams be able to find some separation from the rest of the group.

I thought ours was fair- I skimmed most in the chunk where Auburn was which included us and the Ags and GA and thought the content was plenty decent.

I wouldn't be that surprised if all 4 of those teams are higher ranked by the end of the season. It should be a bloodbath in the West this year.

The key for Auburn is staying healthy. If Lawson and the rest of their defensive line can stay healthy all year, they should be competitive in every game.

I saw a stat the other day about Auburn's team last year that astounded me: In their final 9 games of the season (which included games against 7 bowl teams), Auburn only trailed by double digits for less than 7 minutes of game time. That's 540 total minutes of game time, but Auburn either led, was tied, or trailed by single digits for all of them except for just under 7.

It just goes to show that all of their games were close. If Auburn can get a spark on offense, and if they stay healthy, they should be very competitive.

Better than the NY Post.

Not that that's saying a lot.

I would literally shite my pants if I saw that tiger in the bushes. Then I would probably be brutally killed. That is a scary animal.

Cmon man. Auburn sucks remember. Terrible players, awful coaches. Nothing to see here. Last place in the West.

Already obvious they don't have a lick of sense. Georgia, Arkansas, aTm and Auburn all above 25? Hard to believe people get paid for this kind of crap.

I hate these polls. They try to project how teams will end up ranked. They don't look at how good the teams actually will be. I don't think there are 34 teams better than Auburn, they will just be ranked lower than other teams because of their schedule.
