This is such a piece of crap and disrespectful.

THEY DIDN'T WIN THE TITLE!

How the hell could Bama fans let them even step foot in their city?
Schedule better teams UCF!!! JOIN A REAL CONFERENCE.

Reminds me of the taters in 81, or now and how they won that game off illegal pick plays.

Typical cupcake conference teams.

Claiming something before World War II is a bit different than claiming something since an agreed upon system has been in place.

To say UCF doesn’t deserve to be called the national champion is ludicrous

To say UCF is the true national champion is also ludicrous

To say that UCF is the best team in the country is probably foolish, but we’ll never know*

To say that VermilionTiger is an utter 'tard would not be so ludicrous.

I think any person who has ever watched more than a few downs of football would say that UCF is NOT the best team in the country and we can know that for sure.

If you think UCF had the players or coaching staff to stay within 2 touchdowns of Alabama, you're not worth arguing with.

Also using the Auburn game results is a laughable attempt at best to say they were some how better than Alabama in any way

UCF has a right to claim a championship just based on beating the team that beat both the participants in the NC Game. Do I think they are better ? No, but they have a claim.

Then why did UCF agree that the winner of the playoff would be the national champion?

They're called meaningless exhibition games for a reason.

If you think UCF is really a better team than Auburn, you might be a bit naive.

Don't understand why everybody is shitting on UCF. They went unbeaten and untied and got left out. They're trying to draw attention to this.

Everybody who wants to make fun of them for it is a pussy in my book.

Does nobody remember this?

Because they agreed to participate in a system wherein the champion would be determined by a playoff whose teams would be determined by a committee, a committee that they had a representative on, and when they didnt make the playoff they just went ahead and decided to crown themselves champions. Its a bush league move by a bush league school

Auburn does not claim the 2004 national title

NCAA: Agree to participate in this system where you have zero chance to win a national championship, or drop down to FCS while losing millions annually.

UCF: Uhhh...

Their Conference agreed to recognize that claim in order to be able to at least have a chance to sit at the table of the Big 6 Bowls (money). It was a token offer by the Playoff Committee to present a image of unity. The Playoff Committee knew that going to 4 Teams wasn't going to present a true Champion, but they threw out money to keep the mid-majors happy. They never expected a team to really challenge the claim of the Championship. UCF(and maybe USF) is the one school that has the recruiting base, facilities and population base that can throw a wrench in the Playoffs guise of a Champion.

The level of validation you and some of the other fans need is astounding. Bama got a trophy and rings, why do you care that UCF claims it.

They should, but that was Jay Jacobs decision. UCF claim would be similar to AUs in 93.

No shite. They defend their claim so much you would think they were the ones in the trenches playing. The players have a right to bitch about it, but fans? StopRobot is that 70 year old douche who has Crimson everywhere in his house and script A decals all over his truck.

The NCAA does not run the college football playoff. They are losing millions as a member of FBS already. They can also form their own division with the other G5 schools with their own championship. Their representative VOTED to form the playoff under the current rules.
