That's not a common play by any stretch.

Naa dude. Naa.

A 109-yard field goal return TD as time expires to beat your biggest rival and #1 team in the country that sends your team to the SECCG is absolutely once-in-a-generation.

Also, I don't know of any NCAA team that have had a FG return to win a game.

You are better than this, NYC.

Yes, but when you see Alabama has all their fat guys out there, call a timeout, put your returner out there, and have them set a wall, it's not a fricking fluke

I'm sure it's just a fluke to you that all these players ran down the field and set up a wall on the left side

Once every few months. They aren't common st all. Returning a fg attempt for a TD is rare, regardless of it being a set play.

A return for about 100 yards due to parkey being hurt and not able to get it in the end zone and our guy pulling his hammy and opening the lane lost the NC game.

Lot more "miracle luck" their than the kick six.

Honestly almost every team that makes it to the NC game has some luck go their way during the season. Unless you just blow everyone out, that's what happens in close games. Alabama needed a blocked FG to escape the Tennessee game a few years ago in the same year they won it all. LSU made the NC game with two losses...I'd call that pretty lucky.

The Georgia game is really the only one where the ball just happened to bounce the right way

rarity = fluke now? When you clearly were trying to do that?

Alright

did you type this with a straight face

Well when you specifically describe any play down to exactly how it happened, they are all rare

quote:

regardless of it being a set play.

So you agree it was a set and designed play?

Yep, ultimately a penalty or injury or some other less visible luck could have been the difference. Instead, it happened in more legendary fashion, but it may not be any more lucky than some other event. I'm glad it happened that way, though.

Aubies are so touchy about that play. Just come to terms with it. You put together a good plan and luckily it fell into place.

Guys by my definition we were lucky 12 times and unlucky twice. Of course, luck can be defined as

“Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.”
