Bowl games are meh unless it's a playoff game. They don't really matter.

This is true, but the west was supposed to be the best of the best.
Here is what we learned about the SEC last season:
The SEC was an above average and deeper league overall, with the west only slightly better than the east. Georgia's annual flops and Mizzous easy schedule rendered them a second trip to Atlanta to play a deeper superior Alabama team that won as scripted. The east played out just about right other than South Carolina.
The mediocre SEC teams beat the other conferences mediocre teams, the top of the conference failed pretty badly against the top tier of the other leagues. I feel as if the Pac-12 had the slight advantage last year even with the OSU championship. There is no way to back that up with no SEC-Pac12 bowl tie-ins.

No other school in the country can say that they play at least 6 physical games each season. Those divisional games are brutal. It's not an excuse it's just the truth

One more thing....
Hugh Freeze should absolutely be ashamed of himself after that Peach Bowl embarrassment, I've never felt more embarrassed as a fan of our league.
Dan Mullen should be ashamed too, but he isn't a defensive guy, and they failed defensively against the 2 and 3 star Georgia Tech team.
Lastly, if I have to watch effing LSU run 3 halfback draws in a row to go three and out over and over again, I'm done watching them.
Auburn had a legitimate opponent in Wisconsin, but they should have still won.
Alabama played with heart and lost to the better team.

While I strongly agree, Blake Simms wasn't a top tier quarterback. The rest of the team was top tier.

Eh the sec west kicked tail in non-conference match ups in the regular season which is a much better gauge of conference strength then bowl games. You are just parroting what the other conference fans said after the bowl season when after a decade of being embarrassed they finally had something to brag about even though I think the sec still had the most bowl wins thanks to the east ha.
