I mean as underwhelming as Gus is at times, he's probably a top 3 coach in this conference.

We are never consistently good or bad. Never even consistently average. Just really good highs for a season and really low lows every 3-4 fours.
Hopefully, this year is the exception for the SEC, not the start of a trend. We need to get Saban's arse to retire so the recruiting can get back looking like one that should exist in a conference like this.
Alabama is getting who they want and the ones everyone else wants and lets them sit on the bench for two years.

Gus seems to need the perfect QB for his system to really work. If he is considered a top 3 coach in the conference right now it is by default and shows how bad the SEC truly is. He has had more underwhelming seasons than good. If Stidham isn't great he's probably gone soon.

I mean, looking at the coaches after Saban:
Coaches worse than Gus
Mason
Butch
Smart
Boom
Stoops
McElwain
Orgeron
Freeze
Bert
Sumlin
Mullen and Gus are probably the 2nd and 3rd best coaches in the conference. McElwain/Mason is a distant fourth, and after that it's a shite show.

Let's just hope the SEC is really down and Washington slams Bama. In my mind 8 of 11 is better than 8 of 10.

Every coach has been processed by Saban. This is now Saban's conference. May as well make him commissioner.
