No conference gets the benefit of the doubt quite like the SEC.
The credibility of seven consecutive national championships is still felt today, in preseason polls and offseason rhetoric, even as we head into our third year since the league last hoisted a title. The aura of invincibility is gone, but the hype remains.

I have seen this said multiple times. That 3rd season hasn't started yet, so stop trying to make it 3 years since the SEC has won the title. It bad "journalism" at best, and butt hurt retard at worst.

The guy who wrote that doesn't even have a bio on ESPN's media zone site. He must be on the absolute lowest rung of their corporate ladder. It's nice that they let their mail room employees post articles from time to time.

You calling a guy who says 2 years and seven months = "heading into the third year" a butt hurt retard?

click bait.
That's internet journalism in general. Either being negative to please the haters or full of fluff to please the kool aid drinkers. Either way, links get plastered across the web and brings in the money.
