Very True

If Tennessee has a shot, so does Kentucky.

Exactly. Tennessee doesn't have a shot either. It's UF, UGA, and SCe.

No, they don't. Take the orange-tinted glasses off. UGA and USCe return the most starters in the conference along with Arkansas. UT returns the fewest.

1) wrong depending on your definition of "sniff"
2) UT is going to the 2 teams they "beat the dog shite out of" and the last time they went to Athens and Columbia they got the dog shite beat out of them.

And we beat ya'll two years ago, and ya'll beat us 3 and 4 years ago, and we beat ya'll 5 years, and ya'll beat us 6 years ago, and we beat ya'll 7,8, and 9 years ago.
This year, however, UT is depleted on both sides of the ball. My reasoning that UF, UGA, and USCe are the only 3 teams with a shot goes like this:
UF is the best program in the East right now, obviously. Yes, they lost some talented players, not to mention Tebow...but right now they aren't rebuilding, they're reloading.
UGA, with our stale offensive coordinator, averaged the most ppg in conference play last year. We lose 1 player from that offense, the worst player, Joe Cox. Our specialists are legit: Walsh, Butler, and Boynkin. It all depends on the D...and everybody knows that talent hasn't been the problem.
USCe: This is their shot. If they were every going to win, it'd be the year UGA is installing a new D, UF loses the best player in their pogram's history along with some coaching turnover, and UT is in rebuilding mode.

1. Florida = 10-2, 6-2
2. USC = 9-3, 5-3
3. Georgia = 8-4, 4-4
4. Tennessee = 7-5, 4-4
5. Kentucky = 7-5, 3-5
6 Vanderbilt = 1-11, 0-8
Florida and USC play in November in the swamp to see who has the right to go to the SECCG.
Georgia goes 11 weeks without a bye, and loses to Arkansas, @ Auburn, Florida, and @ SC
South Carolina loses to Auburn and Alabama, and that's it until they lose to Florida.

I think it is between UF and UT.

dont know R2R I can see Fla dropping the Bama and LSu game this yr. Not saying they will but there is a greater chance of it happening this yr than in the last few. I might take SC with Fla #2. I think TN will surprise because Dooley is a good coach that runs the same running offense as Bama and they wil lget TN back to playing sec football. TN backfield is loaded but I dont know who or what they have coming back on the OL. If they are solid I can see TN possibly finishing 2nd or third with a bit of luck. i know we talked about them before and they have a tough sched and we said 6-6 or 5-7 I'll just call it a hunch.

Yeah.... UGA is clearly upgrading with a freshmen QB...
Listen, if Cox was really as bad as you all think he was, then Mark Richt would have pulled his butt.
Mark Richt has proven with his QB decisions that he is not afraid of going with a younger guy if he thinks that guy is better. Neither FR got a look at QB.

A. When did I ever say UGA was upgrading at the position? If he merely matches the numbers posted by Cox, we still trot out a legitimate offense.
B. No, Richt has not shown that he will bench SRs for the better player. Huge complaint from me. See: Tereshinski, Joe or Evans, Bryan.
C. There are certain pieces of common knowledge about last year's back up QBs that answer your questions:
1. Mettenberger and Gray were not ready to play. And in all likelihood, Gray won't be any better this year.
2. The shirt was coming off Murray after the LSU/Tennessee debacles, but the kid was injured. Shoulder tendinitis that didn't heal until the bowl practices. He was lined up to replace Cox.
