My dad went to the Orange Bowl in 1983. His car broke down in a bad area of Miami. My mom was pregnant with my brother. To say that they were scared would be an understatement.

Overtown and liberty city are the two really bad areas in Miami. Some parts of Miami gardens are sorta bad, but overtown and especially liberty city are terrible.

White people do not go into liberty city period. Pork n Beans is possibly the most dangerous project in the U.S.

Overtown is about 3 miles east and a bit north of the old orange bowl. Liberty city is about 4 miles north. I made the mistake of missing the turn to 95-N after a Marlins game last year and ended up having to go through part of liberty city at night. I was legitimately concerned.

Pretty much almost all of Shreveport is a scary as hell and a pretty big shite hole, with exception of the high dollar area a bit south of kings highway.

Can't believe no one has mentioned the Florida Citrus Bowl in Shitlando. It's near Orange Blossom Trail for the sake of all that is frickworthy.

Cotton Bowl is in a shitty part of Dallas. That gets my vote.

Ladd Stadium back in the 80's. Prichard Stadium anytime.

Of course not. I love the Rickwood Classic. It's just the days where the classic isn't taking place

But you're not scared of Tiger Stadium? Weren't there cracks in the foundation at Tiger Stadium not too long ago?

I'll answer that...no, there weren't. I've never heard anyone say that before. I just spent a few minutes googling, checking the TAF website, LSUsports, The Advocate, and NOLA.com. Nothing. TBH, I doubt anyone else has heard it either.

LSU has spent a lot of money on Tiger Stadium over the years. The school is about to finish an $87 million addition. and also spent $1.7 million to reseal the 3/4 of the stadium concrete that wasn't already resealed. As well replace all the seating. All told, the school has probably spent $300 million sprucing up the stadium over the last ten years.

I would be shocked to hear that Ole Miss has spent even a tenth of that amount on VHS over the same time period.

I understand your pique at someone trashing your stadium. But that doesn't excuse making stuff up.

The Independence Bowl in 2007.

It was basically UA vs LSU with Colorado as proxy.

Tons of fights in the fairgrounds afterwards for Saban's first "homecoming".

It wasn't "scary", but it was intense.

Especially with beer sales and how dark it is around that stadium.

I loved it.

The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum may be surrounded by museums and next to the USC campus, but it's still in a South-Central LA ghetto and dangerous at night.

I'm honestly amazed more incidents don't happen there.

Not sure why people think the old orange bowl is so scary. It's by lil Havana which is cuban. It's not a bad or dangerous area at all. People are extremely nice and friendly imo. I've parked in people's yards and given them the 10-15 bucks many a time and felt totally safe. Night game, going back to the car is no big deal at all.

That area had no parking, bad street lighting, no businesses nearby, no public transportation, and several blighted neighborhoods surrounding it. To make matters worse, the stadium itself was falling apart in the later years. It gives Legion Field a run for its money.
